Yellow!

Is anyone else buying the yellow clothes in the shops? Previously the only yellow garment I ever owned was a velour pullover my mum bought me when I was about 12, which made me look fluey.

I find the acid yellow at Cos irresistible and want to buy it all despite not being entirely convinced it's flattering. I can't really explain why, it just has a hold on me. I'm itching for this yellow dress for Christmas parties.

It will probably all be 70% off in the New Year and by spring will look terribly dated and a bad idea...

Yellow, yellow, I pink up the phone...

I’ve seen a couple of pairs of yellow shoes I’m mulling over. One pair is already 40% off. I like the other yellow dress Cos has in, the sleeveless one with the bubble hem.

Last time I had a yellow dress (a-line shift dress about 5 years ago) I kept saying to DH “the thing is with yellow dresses, they’re such a bugger to keep clean. You have one, get really pissed off by it, don’t get another for ages, until you’ve forgotten how much of a bugger it was to keep clean”.

Think the yellow dress before the shift dress was a teadress IIRC

Sometimes I keep things that don't suit me (clogs, high-waisted baggy trousers, pencil skirt etc) for that very reason, because I know if I get rid I'll forget why and want a new version. It's like an archive of what I like that I should never buy.
I love the bubble hem dress but I know it won't work for me.
Tried the dress on and it looked like my tits were at my waist and my waist was at my knees. It is made of very strokeable heavy glowy satin which means even though it looks terrible on I have to keep talking myself out of it.

It’s not a colour I can wear - it drains all colour from my face. I can just about manage mustard if I slap on loads of bronzer.

Hmm, I might be fooling myself Super, I feel all glowy in it. I can't carry off any kind of mustard or gold shades though.
If you go in for House of Colour or similar there are some neon/acid colours in my palette (winter). I lose my nerve I can always wear it with blue, which looks great with it.
