Nose eating my piercing!

I've had a nose piercing for 20 years with just a small silver stud in it for most of that time. It's rarely given me any trouble but in the last year or so I've noticed it's kind of receding into the hole and looks all black aroundthe edge

Gah! Baby grabbed my phone!

Anyway, the hole has gotten bigger, the stud is sinking into the hole and looking black around the edge which isn't nice. Has anyone else experienced this? What can I do about it?

I've only got my ears pierced, DD has septum piercing, but could it be what's called migration??

Is this link of any use?: piercingbible.com/migration-rejection/

Use a ring?

FruitCider · 11/11/2018 19:57

You need to put a bigger stud in until the hole shrinks.

Take it out and clean it??

Lamentations · 12/11/2018 14:51

Is it bad that I'd like to see a picture?

Piercings can sometimes move as the skin around it changes. Ideally you need to visit a really good reputable body piercer and let them take a look. They may either advise you to remove it and let it heal and then repierce or replace the stud with a ring.

Thanks all. I don't really want to put a bigger stud in as I work in an office and don't think it's appropriate. Good shout about visiting a piercing studio for advice.
