Can you restore a leather jacket?

I bought a black leather jacket about 3 years ago thinking it would be an investment. But some of the panels have faded. Is there anything I can do to get it back to normal or do I accept it was a bad purchase?

Have you tried black shoe polish?

No. Only because it is whole panels that have gone a slightly reddish colour. So not sure it will help..

Yes, you can, there are specialist leather dyes, you can get the whole treated so it is the same colour but you need to find a proper leather worker who knows what they are doing to get it done. There are firms that specialise, look for one that's recommended.

ps you don't want to use boot polish because that comes off and marks things.
