Anyone tried MAC Whirl or Twig lipsticks?

I want to buy a MAC mini lipstick to get me free delivery on my Debenhams order.

I’ve always fancied trying a Mac lipstick and have narrowed it down to either Twig or Whirl.

I have olivey skin, brown eyes and hair.

Can anone recommend either of these colours?

I've tried both and prefer Twig, it looks more natural and has a slight pink/mauve time to it whereas Whirl is a lot darker and more brown in it.

i had exact same debate with the mini size, its nice to try the smaller ones. i ordered without trying and just went on swatches i searched for on make up blogs etc got twig in the end.

its more natural mauve/ deeper pink as PP said. i think it would really suit you.

i have very dark brown hair or reddish black when coloured, quire pale (yellow undertones) and lighter brown eyes and i love it.

I prefer twig too.
Whirl always makes my mouth look too much like a cat’s bum Blush

I've got Twig and like it for night time - too dark for day. Love the minis - such a good way to try a new shade.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/11/2018 17:32

Velvet Teddy still my favourite though.

Honey1975 · 11/11/2018 18:52

Ooh what’s velvet teddy like Remus? Are you similar colouring to me? Sounds like whirl isn’t the one, maybe too dark..

Pale, a bit sallow, dark eyes and hair.

VT is a perfect daytime shade in a sort of 'My lips but better' way. I love it - best lipstick I've ever bought.

Honey1975 · 11/11/2018 20:13

Is it very nude? I find anything too nude contributes to my washed out look.

The other mini they have on Debs website is Mehr - anyone know what that’s like?

My dd likes Mehr - it's quite pink iirc.

VT isn't too nude.

BeautifulComicalThings · 11/11/2018 21:03

I find Whirl too dark - I still wear it but have to just dab it on and mix it with a lighter nude. Velvet Teddy is my favourite, it's a dark-ish nude. Mehr is a flattering pink.

StealingYourWiFi · 11/11/2018 21:05

My favourites are Velvet Teddy and Faux

Honey1975 · 11/11/2018 21:22

Oh I don’t know which to go for! They all sound lovely!

@Honey1975 I know it's been awhile since you wrote you're post but I'm currently in the same predicament as you were 😭
Which Mac lipstick did you go for in the end? I have the same skin, eyes and hair shade as you by the sounds of it... Any help would be much appreciated 😊

Processedpea · 28/03/2019 19:26

i use twig everyday have used about 20 of them, it's a great shade

Layoverlife · 28/03/2019 19:49

@Processedpea thank you so much for you're reply, I keep looking at a few shades but keep coming back to Twig and thinking it the one I should get x

MrsSchadenfreude · 28/03/2019 19:51

Another vote for Twig!

Layoverlife · 28/03/2019 19:57

Thank you @MrsSchadenfreude

ketchupormayo · 28/03/2019 20:01

I have twig and I love it! Have Whirl lip liner and it's a nice colour I wear them together

ketchupormayo · 28/03/2019 20:01

Velvet teddy is my favourite though, it's anit lighter than Twig x

Layoverlife · 28/03/2019 20:03

Just ordering it now, so excited! Grin
Thank you ladies, it's going to the first Mac lipstick I own 🙈

Layoverlife · 28/03/2019 20:05

I've had a few light nudes from other company's but just doesn't seem to show up on my lips, unless I point out to friends I have lipstick on they wouldn't know or comment that's why I'm thinking of trying Mac as I've heard so much about their lipsticks and shades
