Work photos on Wednesday and nothing to wear!

It's ridiculous but I'm having a complete internal breakdown about this. Just joined a new business, and we are having individual and group photos done on Wednesday. We are a design firm and I am part of the senior team. I need to look cool. I am quite overweight. It's Sunday and I have little time to shop. Argh please help with ideas!!!

Current plan (but slightly worried will not look good in group standing pics) is jeans and boots, white shirt and tailored jacket. I'm worried about the jeans but def don't want to be over smart/corporate.

Could you go for a top rather than a shirt under the tailored jacket? A tailored jacket with boots and shirt is not cool.

Put your hair up if it's long....and wear a flattering top under the jacket.

Yep could do top and maybe chunky/statement necklace?

or a printed shirt as they are in at the moment?

chalkyc2 · 11/11/2018 08:16

Worried print (which would love, actually) would make me look massive 😬

black base?

What about something like this shirt / long tunic it's H&M .. thinks there's other colours

I have something similar, I wore the other day and someone said I was very on trend in a surprised manner this was obviously just pure luck

Oh it's nice but worried I would resemble jo brand/tent rather than flowing layers!

I would wear all black with a tasteful bold necklace or earrings. Nothing ruffled or embellished. Classic shapes and non fussy lines such as a boat neck or round neck, not a shirt. Aim for style rather than fashion. Nails painted

Yes to all black with clean lines
Order loads from ASOS or next for next day delivery and have massive trying on session as home
What about a longline jacket something like this ?

Ok I can do all black - is my staple. As my 7 year old said, dads wear suits to work and mums just have to wear black....!

Maybe statement necklace and possibly some cool boots?

These? With either black top and trousers or black dress and tights?

They're lovely OP and thanks to you, I have just searched the whole house and found a similar pair I bought in the sale last year and had forgotten all about! As someone who usually wears mostly black to work, I went off piste for our work photos in the summer and wore white top and a blazer. I look awful and wish I'd stuck to black. Black and snakeskin boots would have been even better! I think stick with what you feel good in (presumably black) and black trousers or dress and necklace with those boots will look great.

justaweeone · 11/11/2018 11:28

Those boots are fab!!
