Asian Skincare routine - where to start?

CassieStuart · 10/11/2018 09:47

I'm really keen to try an Asian skincare routine as my skin is looking tired and blotchy at the moment. I've tried googling but there is so much to choose from I have no idea where to start.

Any fans of this type of skincare routine able to give a newbie some pointers on which products to buy?

There used to be an ongoing thread on here, 'obsessed with Asian skincare', ypu can have a search for that. It sort of dried up and a lot of the chatter moved over to the Fantastic Skincare threads, we talk a bit of Asian skincare on there but not exclusively.

For Asian skincare the Asian Beauty Reddit is a good resource. The sidebar (difficult to find/see on mobile, desktop is best) has a lot of useful beginners info.

Thanks! Off to reddit...

Gothamista and Liah Yoo on YouTube.

This is a nice group m.facebook.com/groups/929695067111167

I started with a hydrating toner which was amazing - I like Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner and Etude House Soon Jung. Beauty and Seoul is a good UK website to browse products and their delivery is fast.

I also started looking at different products today(So much coice! So many cool things! Bee venom and snail secretions!) and came across this:

Could be a start at least!

Thanks. I've been trying a few products over recent weeks and do feel there is a difference in my skin. I am using house of etude face masks twice a week, the snail secretion serum and a Laniege water night cream. For cleansing I am double cleaning with an oil based balm followed by a foam and then using rose water as a toner before splashing on an essence.

Blimey - more than a few products...

Oh fun! Me too! Would love to hear what you recommend.
I went bananas reasearching and then spending on YesStyle (at least there was a huge sale on).
I started at the same time as you and am also seeing a difference already. Grin

I was using loads of masks before, but have changed my whole routine otherwise;

Evening: DHC oil for 1st clean, Hada Labo Hyaluronic face foam for 2nd clean, Missha Time Revolution Essense and Ampoule.

Day: HL face foam wash, COSRX AHA/BHA toner (a few times a week)or LGH Tea Tree Essense and Banila Co Dear Hydration balancing moisturiser.

Bought loads of other bits and bobs (also got a brilliant SPF) as well and love it all! Makes me happy.
