In need of a foundation change

Probably done to death but can anyone suggest a foundation with good coverage and staying power, maybe with a bit of a glow? Currently using double wear which I do really like but it's just too drying in the colder weather. Anyone tried any of the urban decay ones? All nighter seems to be long lasting according to reviews but does it settle in every line on your face? Money is no object for the perfect one!

I like Laura Mercier candle light glow (I think it's called) it's sheer and glowing but won't cover spots or anything else. It gives you a glow and evens out skin tone!

I’m using mac studiofix and really liking it. Good coverage but it is t as heavy as doublewear.

I went and had a trial make up with bare minerals tinted moisturiser. I really like it but it’s quite natural looking. The moisturiser and primer made a big difference...

PrettyPenguin12 · 09/11/2018 06:23

I ditched double wear earlier this year and switched to tinted moisturiser as the DW was too drying.
Have tried a few and the best so far has been Nivea 24hr moisture + soft tint. Little goes a long way tho and you have to really buff it into the skin.
Is v cheap, so worth a go?

I've tried tinted moisturizer before and didn't get on with it. I have a mildly oily tzone and it just can't cope with that and slides off! I'll be a near a Sephora today so might check out the Laura Mercier stuff. Thanks

I was an avid Doublewear user but began to find it too heavy and drying.

Switched to Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion - still good coverage but much lighter!

I've just started with the new L'Oreal infallible 24hr freshwear and really impressed. Good coverage, slightly dewy and lasts well. Layers well to wear more at night too. A bargain at £10.99!

I love the No. 7 Stay Perfect foundation, which has good coverage and lasts really well. It's not glowy, but you could always try one of those glowy primers under it. Or a highlighter, unless you're scared of them like I am.

I like the revolution conceal and define, it's a demi matte and a little more hydrating than DW

bitofabelly · 10/11/2018 08:58

I have just started using NOTE foundation and I'm really really liking it..having used and tested more expensive brands. It doesn't make my skin itch, has a nice glow and I like the tone I use..doesn't make me pinky looking.

Mummyshark2018 · 10/11/2018 09:21

I've tried them all, mac, double wear, urban decay, bare minerals etc etc. Best one for my skin and complexion by far L'Oréal true Match. Goes on well and stays on all day. Quite light too. I still use Mac for a night out/more glam/ heavier look. True match is a bargain at boots when you can get 3for2.

Baxdream · 10/11/2018 09:35

Definitely it cosmetics. It is the best I've used in a long time

thethoughtfox · 10/11/2018 09:49

The holy grail is: Milk Matte Blur Foundation. It isn't matte but full coverage, very thin and light, glowy, stays on all day and seems to be like a filter for my face and makes my forehead look completely smooth.

TantricTwist · 10/11/2018 13:35

I've just starting using Rimmel Match perfection which I'm really liking so far as a drugstore foundation.
I usually wear Nars TM which I love and lasts a long on time on me and due to my combination skin foundations can just slide off but not this.

happypoobum · 10/11/2018 14:19

I use DW and don't find it at all drying, but DD did, and has switched to Nars TM and says it is much better for her skin.
