Where to get a classy prom dress for DD16

Please help me lovely MNers. DD is already thinking about her prom dress for next summer. It's going to be at a posh hotel. She wants something in blue or green which is eye-catching without being too revealing.

I'm so out of touch. Does anyone have any suggestions for shops or websites to try. Budget is up to £150. Thank you!

Monsoon have some gorgeous beaded dresses around that price; I actually got married in one, it was advertised as a "bridesmaid" dress but it was gorgeous.

Thanks awkward. I didn't think of there. I got my ball dresses from there back in the day!

I had mine from Charlie Brown. Very elegant and hasn’t aged. I still have it.

Have a look in coast - they had beautiful dresses, stand alone stores are shut now but they have concession stores :-)

Quiz or Goddiva have some lovely stuff. I've had lovely stuff from there before. And don't forget Chi Chi London.

LoniceraJaponica · 08/11/2018 20:54

Quiz are also pretty reasonably priced.
DD's dress was from Debenhams. She didn't have a long dress as neither of us thought it was a good idea to buy a dress that would only be worn once.

TK Max get some lovely ones in and you’ve got time to keep an eye out.

I had an absolute mare getting dd's prom dress earlier this year until a lovely MNer told me about the Ever Pretty range on Amazon. Fantastic range of gorgeous dresses for well under £100. Just be prepared to get it shortened. Good luck !

Both my girls got theirs from Debenhams, one a knee length the other was full length gown. They were both around the £70 mark.

If you go to a prom dress shop rather than high street, most prom dress shops will keep a note of the school and dress she buys and won't sell same dress to another girl in same school. This may or may not be important to your Dd (and will dep nd no doubt on size of school and number of dr as shops nearby)!

Some absolutely beautiful gowns here, very tasteful!
