I bought this. Is it horrible?

I have been searching for a puffa coat . Lots make me look out of proportion as I’m only 5’. I bought this Hobbs one because it’s not fitted but I do look rather triangular in it. It has got a sort of Japanese vibe shapewise but I’m wondering if I’ll look like a small dalek in it.

I have one similar so I like it! Plus i always think they look better on than on the hanger or on a website pic

Puffa coats are never going to be shapely. I think we need a photo with you wearing it to really give a fair appraisal. 😉

You could style it out by playing up the resemblance - stick some Dalek balls on, carry an egg whisk and a plunger. A whole ‘Hey, I know I’m cosplaying a Dalek and I’m totally cool with that’ vibe.

Well I’m a big fan of the Daleks so channeling one whilst keeping cosy sounds a great way to combine style, practicality and total world domination. I’ve taken a pic but can’t work out how to obscure my face for privacy?

Nothing special. An inoffensive ordinary looking black winter coat. I wouldn’t look twice, either positively or negatively.

Great. It’s been very difficult to find somethIng not too long and which fits across the boobs and hips without being too tight or too big. If it’s inoffensive that’s also good as I don’t like standing out.

It's a nice coat - puffas are never the most slinky and elegant option stylewise, but they are very cosy and you don't look like a dalek at all.

Thank you all. I’m going to keep it. It’s the most expensive coat I’ve bought so wanted not to look like a Dalek in it. I was so cold last winter and I’ve high hopes that this will end the shivering. Suzyloo I can’t find it in blue on their website but did see it in dark green in John Lewis’s so it maybe worth asking if they do a blue.

Looks cosy. I love the idea of puffa coats and jackets and, in fact, just bought myself a gorgeous dark green velvet one. Unfortunately, being over endowed in the breasticles region, I don’t look like a small Dalek but I do resemble a low flying zeppelin. Harrumph.

I'm disappointed OP, I'd like to complain about lack of promised dalekness
It looks lovely and actually has a bit more shape than the original pic showed. I love the collar as well - mine has a similar collar and is so cosy!

It seems I might be the only one who put this on and wondered about its potential for Dalekness 😀. Judas my boobage also on the large size but this seems to disguise/obliterate them from view. Im going to remove the label and practice my scary Dalek voice now.

Thanks Owl - I will do that. I love the black but I already have - ahem - two black puffa coats. And a navy one, if I'm honest, but that's a bit old now and I could justify a new one, for work, if I saw a nice one. The dark green sounds lovely too.

The dark green was lovely but it’s not a colour I wear so went for black. But it was a v nice green imo
