Are my eyes green?

I've always said/thought my eyes are green but now I'm not sure. DS has very bright green eyes and mine seem a lot darker. Are they green or are they actually hazel?

I don't wear make up because I've never known what colours suit my eye colour. I don't really wear a lot of coloured clothing either so don't have a clue what might suit me. I just want to start smartening up a bit and spending more effort on clothes and my appearance.

I'd appreciate any advice or suggestions please. I don't have lots of money so can't afford high end designers but could afford a couple of "key pieces"

LuckyDiamond · 08/11/2018 18:49

Khaki and purple are the two best colours on me

Neurotrash, yours are like mine. Hazel but at the khaki end of the spectrum

NeurotrashWarrior · 08/11/2018 19:53

Thanks don!

Pivot- hazel blue? Or a type of hazel
Grey? Tricky!

PivotPivotPIVOTTT · 08/11/2018 20:07

Neuro oh I like that I have never even considered hazel before. Does that mean there is also a hint of brown in my eyes Shock another colour to add to the confusion Grin

NeurotrashWarrior · 08/11/2018 20:17

I can see some brown; I don't know if that makes them hazel or a bit mixed up!

PivotPivotPIVOTTT · 08/11/2018 20:49

So there is I have honestly never noticed that before Blush. So I have a mixture of blue, green, brown and grey. I have decided i don't have an eye colour Grin

NeurotrashWarrior · 08/11/2018 20:53

Showed dh my pic and asked him what the colour was of the eye - he said hazel. Was surprised it was my eye as he was convinced I had brown eyes. I think I did have browner eyes when younger and they've changed (which google says can happen.)

HiGunny · 08/11/2018 20:54

Wow @Life, your eyes are a gorgeous colour!

NeurotrashWarrior · 08/11/2018 20:55

Pivot I saw someone describing their eyes as hazel grey during google search so perhaps that's you? You can choose what colour to bring out!

Cherries101 · 08/11/2018 20:55

Hazel

PivotPivotPIVOTTT · 08/11/2018 21:43

Neuro you have solved it Grin these are almost identical to mine except mine have a dark (black?Grin) outline.

There's different shades of green eyes just as there's lots of different shades of blue eyes.

If you want to bring out the green more, I recommend amber/burgundy/warm earth toned eyeshadows (not brown, they echo hollows and shadows on the face and/or make you look ill. Brown tones look great with blue eyes though). Maybelline do a Burgundy palette and also a blushed nudes (for lighter shades along the same colour theme). L'Oreal do a Cheri Mon Cheri palette with lots of burnt oranges, ambers etc but they are a little brighter overall. The Maybelline palettes are good value for trying out different shades and they last well, I find.

^ Sorry, it's called Cherry My Cheri.

Deathraystare · 09/11/2018 08:39

I thought mine were grey green. Your's are definitely green. I was told mine are blue. However mine change with what eye make up I wear. With strong mauves mine become turquoise.
