Is this a nice 70th birthday gift idea for my MIL?

I gather that the gemstone for 70 is Sapphire and her birthstone is white topaz.

I've found a lovely white topaz and white sapphire pendant at Dinny Hall.

Computer playing up so can't BLOODY link it but it's the Gem Drop pendant, rose gold with the teardrop white topaz and a tiny white sapphire.

Do you think it's nice?!

I'm worried it's a bit meagre-looking (though obviously £200 doesn't get you a massive rock and also tbf it's not her style to wear massive rocks.)

Would you say it's the type of necklace you could wear for everyday (albeit smart everyday, but then she's never scruffy) or is it an evening piece only?

Driving myself mad trying to decide!! Also she insists she doesn't want 'anything' which is kind of true and kind of not true - if we turn up with nothing she'll be a bit upset but if we go OTT she'll be cross we've overspent.

Want something thoughful and elegant.

I think it’s gorgeous, although does seem expensive for what it is.

Thanks CaseStudy.

I think I need to look at it in person, as it were.

I'm going to see if I can get to one of the London stores to check it out.

Yes, it does seem expensive I agree, may depend on how nice/special it looks in RL. However after what feels like hours trawling boutique jewellers for topaz and/or sapphire jewellery I'm starting to feel £200 is a bargain Grin

Oh I can imagine, like jewellery fatigue!

It definitely hits the mark for thoughtful and elegant. I think you’ll know when you see it in person if it’s the right one.
