I'm 46, 5'3, and a size 18. I don't mind being big, if only I could dress it well - no problem with work clothes, but my casual autumn/winter wardrobe is utter crap.

I tend to wear skinny jeans and flat knee or calf boots in winter, which is easy, but I don't know what to wear on top.

I have stupid giant breasts at a 34H and broad shoulders/upper arms, so I have to buy tops one or even 2 sizes too large to accommodate everything - then the rest of the fabric flaps around my middle and hips like a windsock. I just ordered 3 long shirts from Yours in a size 20 - reasonable fit across the upper body, gigantic around the middle and hips. A size down will be stretched tight across my arms.

I've got some weight around my midriff and stomach so I'm an apple, but a short stumpy one (terrible wide legs). I've been layering hip-length tops over a slightly longer cami, which looks ok, but I'm running out of ideas for loose casual tops that don't just showcase my chest. Longline jumpers, tunics, shirts and jersey tops look great on plus size models but I think I resemble a giant square from the front as my chest is so wide on my medium frame. Tied or elasticated waists in tops don't work either, I have no waist - empire line looks good, except that the boob/upper arm element has to be 2 sizes larger than the body element.

Any ideas? Oversized, drape style tops over something seem to work best, but where to find them not too long? The Yours tops were nearly at my knees, when all the reviews claimed they were too short...

i would try tunics. they go with jeans and leggings (and you can dress them up or down). here are a few i found:
