Definitely not.

Hell no! I don't even shave my arms, despite them being obviously hairy (or my legs for that matter.) I'm a mammal, deal with it. 😎

Flyinggeese · 06/11/2018 23:12

It's just personal preference of course, I leave my arm hair on, it's dark but not lots of it, I quite like how it looks! I remove leg and bikini line hair though.

“Shaving not make it worse?”

I think that’s a myth.

  1. Cut hairs grow back spikier at first, giving the illusion of thickness
  2. I, and I suspect many other women, were warned of “shaving making hairiness worse” by well-meaning older female relatives. “I started shaving too young, and it made me hairier!” As a result, I shave my legs, pubic hair or armpits very seldom. And guess what? I’m getting hairier anyway. Because that’s what happens when you get older, have kids etc.
Then you go through menopause and get less hairy again...

I don't - I'm fair but hairy and TGAF

I'm also slightly concerned about them growing back dark - I've shaved / waxed / veeted my lower legs for years, and the hairs there are now much darker than they used to be, for some reason

I shave mine. I've got fair skin and thick dark hair. They just feel ugly au naturale.
They grow much slower than leg hairs though, and I don't worry about them being perfect. I really love how my arms feel freshly shaved.

It was all the rage to shave your arm hair when i was at secondary school about 17 years ago and I joined in to try and fit in.
But to be fair after the first couple of months it didnt grow back as thick and i have always once a week ish quickly shaved them ever since. They dont grow through that much at all definitely not as fast as leg hairs etc and im so used to it now that il just keep doing it.
Just wish the rest of my body hair would slow down can never grow a nice head of hair just a face... x

MandalaYogaTapestry · 08/11/2018 05:34

I bleach mine every couple of months. It makes the hairs barely noticeable.

Zoflorabore · 08/11/2018 05:53

Im 40 and have shaved mine for about twenty years, takes two minutes.
I'm very very dark haired though with pale skin so they are very noticeable.

I tend to do them once a week or so.

Donthugmeimscared · 08/11/2018 06:00

I have blonde arm hair so have never bothered.

PatchworkGirl · 08/11/2018 16:58

I shaved arm hair for a couple of years as a self-conscious teen with thick dark hair. Now I don't bother - it's not something I think about really.

BaconAndAvocado · 09/11/2018 22:20

God, yes! Otherwise I'd be a Hairy Mary.

I always disliked being really hairy as a child and was overjoyed when I first had my arms waxed.

Vivino · 10/11/2018 01:33

I use hair removal cream too, I don't know why but the idea of shaving my arms just makes me a bit uncomfortable. Nair takes five minutes before I shower once a month or so. I've had laser on my bikini line but the hair wouldn't be dark enough on my arms (though it's dark enough to bother me!)

CountFosco · 10/11/2018 01:42

I think it's still the case that most women don't but obviously you are going to get the few who do responding to this. It's not necessary and in fact we have body hair for a reason. Some people have darker hair than others and some have longer hair than others. But I know for certain my DH would think I was mad if I were to suggest he waxes off his arm hair so why do some women worry that it's unattractive and feel the need to remove it? It's not unattractive and you don't need to worry about it.
