I’m in dire need of new make, 5 years of parenting, 2 DC, another on the way, work and not enough sleep and I look like crap. Recently restyled my hair which I love but I really need to learn to get some decent make up. Any suggestions of brands? Or the best place to go where someone can actually show me what I’m meant to be doing?! I don’t want to be covered in the stuff, I’d just like to not look like shit!

The Bobbi Brown or Laura Mercier counters are a safe bet.

Tinted moisturiser, setting powder, eyebrow pen/shadow, blusher, lipstick and mascara would not take more than 10 mins to apply.

you can go to a boots store and they will do a no7 makeover on you. if you ask them, then they will tell you what products they are using and how

I really like Rosie for Autograph eyeshadow sticks, so easy to use, they don't crease and apply then blend with finger/brush. Honestly they take 2 seconds and make you look so much more put together!

I've just started using the Becca undereye corrector. It's really brightening and helps me look more awake.
