UGG but not UGG

I really like UGG boots. Not the traditional ones but the newer styles.

I LOVE THESE

Are there any other retailers of similar styles out there?

Oh I was expecting the classic ugg but these are fab. Not sure where to find similar but following with interest.

Laska5772 · 05/11/2018 17:49

Celtic and Co?..( I think they were the first producers of Uggs and sold the name .) Anyway they have fab boots but £££.

Raera · 05/11/2018 17:53

Have you tried Skechers? I have 2 pairs of their "Ugg style" boots, one is 5 years old and still good.

Cobblersandhogwash · 05/11/2018 18:38

Celtic & co only go up to size 8. I'm a 9. UGG look really special.

Emu australia

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 05/11/2018 22:13

Your link doesn't work for me, but I just got Emu Australia boots and love them so much.

princesstiasmum · 05/11/2018 22:39

I would never buy Uggs, sheep suffer terribly for the sake of these boots
Watch how they are made to have their skins taken off them

Cobblersandhogwash · 05/11/2018 22:55

They're not killed before??

www.ugg.com/animal-welfare-faq.html

UGG say their sheepskin comes from animals raised to be food.

Does anyone know if this is true?

princesstiasmum · 06/11/2018 00:07

Read about mulesing where the poor sheep have their entire back end cut off ,suppose to make the coat smooth, and i have seen a video of this poor sheep are tied up in a row and sliced ,
Red the sruelty of Uggs, they are then shipped abroad ,often dying or dead on arrival and those still alive are skinned alive, others are thrown into the sea
Sorry no good at posting links but have seen horrific videos

SuperstarDJ · 06/11/2018 08:13

Emu boots. These are on offer today on QVC (randomly received email) but there are plenty of other styles about if you google.

MenstruatorExtraordinaire · 06/11/2018 08:24

Ugg say they don't buy sheepskin that has been mulesed if you read their link. I would think this is true.

princesstiasmum · 06/11/2018 09:00

I have read their website and maybe now they dont, [but they are not going to admit it are they? and also kangaroo skin is sometimes used .]but they used to,
I know what happened to the [lambs] not even adult sheep, because i have seen videos of them and it was very cruel and hard to watch, i think this still goes on in other cultures

Haffiana · 06/11/2018 09:12

I have read their website and maybe now they dont, [but they are not going to admit it are they?

I am not certain why you would wish to carry on believing something after being told it isn't true? You have come on a thread and repeated something that you found on the internet without having made any effort to find out if it is true about the brand in question.

That is not the best way to campaign against a cruel practice. PETA make up this shit all the time because their aim is not to end the practice but something else entirely. Make the effort to do your own research.

princesstiasmum · 06/11/2018 09:34

I have seen te videos on what happens to those poor lambs, and as i said maybe Ugg have revised their policy on this, but the evidence was in the videos, if i could find the videos again and post a link i would, not good at posting links but i will try to find the videos

QueenOfIce · 06/11/2018 10:22

I'm with Princess there was a huge deal made about UGG and how the sheep suffer. Perhaps now they have changed their stance. I however have not and won't buy UGG again which is a shame because against the competition they were always the best I found.

Softkitty2 · 06/11/2018 13:48

superstartDJ would you say the emu sizing is accurate?

SuperstarDJ · 07/11/2018 00:19

Softkitty I think that this sizing description is pretty accurate:

Sizing information – the Emu range fits closely but your boots will bed in and give more with wear. Choose the size that you’d usually take unless you take a half size, in which case choose the next size up.

QOD · 07/11/2018 00:30

If you look up
Schu imperfects
You can buy the ex display/try ons

I’ve only once paid full prove for uggs
I have 1 traditional pair but 6/7 other pairs of ‘Ugg’ the brand boots. They are bloody amazing quality and some I’ve worn for 7 years
