Boots to replace Charla Dr Martins

plotmissinginaction · 05/11/2018 16:48

I had a pair of calf length Charla Dr Martin boots and I've worn them for years, they are falling apart however so I need new shoes. I was just going to get them again but they don't appear to make them anymore. Looking for something very similar, any suggestions?

would ones like these suit

I hadn't thought about Timberland, they should last a while. I loved my Doc Martine ones, I could wear them with pretty much anything.

What about the Lahari www.drmartens.com/uk/en_gb/p/23993001

TarquinGyrfalcon · 05/11/2018 18:16

I have my eye on these Dr Martins
I think they are taller than the Charla but they are very lovely

I own two pairs of Violas. How about eBay? People often sell older styles they've stored and never worn.

Blueberryblueberry · 05/11/2018 18:19

I'm not very good with links, but Birkenstock have some boots which look a similar style? (Am also planning for the day by docs die!)

Floisme · 05/11/2018 18:29

I've switched to Solovair and I'm very happy with them. I don't know the Charla well but is this similar?

They're all made in the UK and I think they're much better quality - they're basically the DMs of old. They have a factory shop in Northampton where you can buy their outlet stock at less than half price and their current stock at 20% off.

I won't be going back to Dr Martens.

I ordered the Lahari and it's horrible. I never thought I'd be lamenting over a pair of boots! Back to the drawing board, I will take a look at Soloivair thanks.

Oh no - I've been coveting a pair since they came out.
What's wrong with them?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 13/11/2018 13:15

Ditto regarding the Lahira boots - I've got them in a virtual basket waiting until the moment that I can bring myself to pay £150! I would love to kjnow why you don't like them plot

TarquinGyrfalcon · 13/11/2018 19:16

Mine are in my amazon basket! And on my Christmas list - @plotmissinginaction spill the beans and tell us what's wrong with them!

plotmissinginaction · 13/11/2018 20:12

Might just be me, they didn’t fit at the calf and were a bit too long for me but I’m very small. But I thought they were too plain and that the sole was much thinner than the pair I had before. They looked a bit like wellies to me.

Thank you - looks like the great boot hunt of 2018 continues.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 14/11/2018 14:30

Oh dear that's a pity but thanks for the update plotmissinginaction - I need a pair of boots that will fit my orhotics so it makes the hunt doubly difficult.

plotmissinginaction · 14/11/2018 20:01

They only have them in size 3 or size 9. Yet to find a size 5.
