Footless Spanx tights - any good?

I've got a dress for my wedding and while I love it, I noticed yesterday while trying it on that the silky-jersey material and pale colour really shows my cellulitey arse (nice). I've been eating well and going to the gym but it's in just under 3 weeks so short of a miracle, my arse will be attending pretty much as is. I tried on spanx-type shorts I already have, but they cut into my thigh and leave an obvious line. I came across these, has anyone tried them?

The dress is long but I'm wearing open-toed sandals so the footless tights aspect looks good, but I don't know if they'd do enough smoothing out or lifting in the bum. So thought I'd ask before I shell out (yet another) sum of money for something wedding-related that I'll never wear again. Thanks!

The proper Spanx power shorts won't cut into your thigh. They are the only brand that seems to have got this right, so if you have tried other brands then you will have had a different experience. I can't see the point of the partial tight bit at all, but IME Spanx are fantastic at exactly what you want, to smooth out your hip and thigh area. Get the right size - if they are too small they won't work any better and will just be uncomfortable.
