High Cortisol = wrinkles?

I am in my early 40's and am getting very wrinkled for my age. I have had some tests and my cortisol levels are very high. Could high cortisol cause wrinkles?

I read high cortisol (stress hormone) affects cell turnover (slows it down) and breaks down collagen. I think stress does show on your face and it helps to reduce stress levels.

I think things like sun damage, smoking and poor diet may have more of an effect though. I wouldn’t blame wrinkles purely on high cortisol. More likely to be sun damage or genetics.

Apparently getting more sleep, and increasing levels of melatonin in the body, helps the skin to repair itself.

(orgasms are very good for your skin)

Are they able to do anything to lower your cortisol levels op? X

I think it makes sense. Cortisol is associated with fight or flight. Ok for an emergency situation but now good for every day.

My stresses are all about my son who is disabled. I think it’s ageing me rapidly. I also drink too much red wine but, it does help.
