My dgd is fifteen this month and wants to find her signature perfume. She has a sensitive skin . I found my signature perfume changed with income and age . What can I start her off with? Also she lives abroad so I can buy in airports easily but I would like something like a try out offer in a special shop. I'd love som ideas. Thanks

I find it impossible to choose perfume without trying it on, as what smells nice in the bottle can smell awful after 20 minutes on my skin. My advice would be to ask her to try some using testers wherever is local to her, and to let you know when she has found one that suits her.

A perfume that my DD and I love is Lancome's La Vie est Belle.

It comes in a lovely bottle so would make a lovely gift.

You could also get her a Victoria Secrets perfume like Heavenly or Bombshell which is very popular with Teenagers.

She needs to go and try out perfumes and as a pp said, to let each one sit on her skin for a few hours.

I have never understood the practice of only wearing one perfume (she wouldn't wear the same outfit to all occasions, would she? A 'signature' outfit, to identify herself?) but if she must, then let her choose it because she loves it rather than it is a popular scent with someone else.

@Mrsr8 that is perfect. She could even have a make your own perfume afternoon.

Eldest daughters signature was Vera Wang princess

Youngest was Hugo Red

Mine was Estée Lauder Beautiful

The scent of these evokes so many memories

At that age my perfum was loccitane. Cheap but elegant.

I agree that teenagers do seem to like the Victoria’s Secret perfumes, also Hollister. My own teen likes Chloe.

I started wearing luxury perfume at that age, but only wore weekends or special occasions so it lasted a long time. Nobody needs it at school do they?
If it's a gift then just give her a budget and she can decide, wouldn't try and force her to have a cheap one just because she's young. It's a special thing so I think the nicer the better!

Sephora (the US bit not sure if Sephora France or other countries do too) do a set with samples in about 6 or 7 types and then a voucher to buy the one you like best, might be a good way to test but also have the full size bottle once chosen. A uk fragrance shop also used to do similar but can’t find it now.
