Where can I find a ladies coat like this?

My 10 year old DD has this coat. It’s brilliant and I really want something similar for myself. Ideally grey but would be ok with khaki, navy or black. Must have a hood, be mid thigh length and waterproof plus warm. Can’t find any ladies coats that fit the bill, any suggestions please?

I have basically this exact coat but it's from Primark so it might not be the best quality (had it for a month and no damage yet). Think they have navy, maroon and black but you can go check in store. Would warn against navy as 10 is about the age where you start not wanting to wear the same clothes as your mum (dw doesn't last forever as I'm 20 now and continually stealing my mum's dresses).

Regatta camping shops have coats similar to this. And actually in quite nice colours too.

What size are you Piggy? I ask because you might find that if this style goes up to age 15-16 it may well fit!

AnotherEmma · 03/11/2018 09:13

Not sure about the colours you want but Seasalt have lots of coats in a similar style and nice colours.

Just had a look and it seems that it only goes up to age 12. I have a didrikson's parka that is quite like this one. Maybe have a look there?

You need to look at a brand called Vero Moda. Google "Vero Moda Navy parka" they do one called expedition and one called explorer. The quality is absolutely amazing. They are thick, warm , fantastic quality and the price is brilliant. I got a spare just recently, my original cost be 50 quid, the latest was 30 pounds on sale fro ASOS. I've never bought anything from there before! Who knew they sold such stuffGrin 8 originally found this coat in a tiny department store in the town I live and honestly it is the BEST coat I have ever bought. I also have a new longer one in khaki but navy one is a bit more old skool which I like.

Oh you lot are so helpful, thanks! Will check out The recommendations.

DD actually has the coat in plum so if I get navy we won’t look too matchy. And I already tried hers on, I’m a 12 and 5’7 so it was completely never going to work but it gave DD a laugh as I shoehorned myself in Grin

This is the one in navy. Fabric is amazing and waterproof too - not cotton like some.

This is my other one. Both same fab fabric. This one is longer. Great for rainy dog walks!!

Ok so the vero moda and Didrikson one’s are both spot on. But big price difference.

Can’t believe what a bargain the vero is, but wonder if the quality of the Didrikson is worth paying? Supposed to be saving money pre Xmas so the sensible option is the vero.

I was trying to make my 3 year old coat work another winter but I’ve lost a couple of stone this year and it makes me look fat again so I’d like to get a nice new one that fits.

I had a Vero Moda one a few years back. It was lovely and warm but it only lasted for two winters. It frayed at the wrists and hems. Although for the price I paid (about £30 in the sale) I still got my moneys worth.

Joules Stormount ?
Lands End Stadium Squall?
Seasalt Janelle ?

foreverblessedbee · 03/11/2018 09:55

Interesting what tracks thought of the quality. My old one still looked like new after almost 3 years, only replaced it because our puppy chewed my zipper and hemAngry apart from said chewed section it was still pretty much perfect. Worn most days in winter for school run. Smile

I'd look at Trespass & Lighthouse brands.

Babybearsporij · 03/11/2018 17:08

Could you fit into children's sizes? I'm 5'4", size 8-10 and I can easily fit size 12-13 / 14-15. So you could get the exact coat. Cheaper too.
