What to wear shopping....

I know this is really random but usually if I need somehting I just nip out at lunch time from work....but this weeked my boyfriend is taking me on a shopping day! It will likely include lunch (maybe a cocktail) somewhere too so i want to look decent but also be comfortable.....Normally I would just wear skinny jeans, my comfy plimsoles, top and my long tan coat with a big scarf but I am thinking that might not be "smart" enough if we go for lunch and a drink too (plus we haven't been together long so I still want to make an effort) I am probably overthinking this but HELP!

I think you're definitely overthinking it! Skinnies, nice trainers, coat and big scarf sounds lovely. Is he a new boyfriend by any chance

I think it depends on whether this is going to be proper, serious shopping or a shopping trip. There's a big difference in my experience.

If it's the first (and it might be - some men are into shopping, I am married to one) then I'd say your normal shopping clothes with one extra nice thing - coat / bag / scarf / whatever so that if you do end up somewhere really swanky, you won't feel out of place.

But if the main focus is likely to be a nice lunch and cocktails with a wander round the shops squeezed in at some point, then I would dress for the lunch.

If you're not sure the I guess something in between the two. Either way he sounds like a nice man

If walking arouns shopping and trying on clothes etc you may get quite warm - if i go somewhere like the trafford centre I wear a jacket, long sleeved tshirt and jeans with ankle boots.

Is he surprising you by taking you shopping for rings ? 😁

Haha yes still new....probably a little too new to be shopping for rings

It is mainly shopping with lunch at some point. I nearly had a crazy moment and conisdered spending my lunch hour shopping for something to wear to go shopping haha but refrained.... I think I will stick with black jeans, plimsoles, and a nice scarf and bag and stop worrying about it !

Of course you could always go shopping for something for the shopping trip...
