A local beauty salon is offering B12 injections for £20 in my town and I wondered whether anyone else had ever had them and if it was worth it.

What for? Unless you have pernicious anaemia you can absorb B12 from food.

Unless you've had your bloods done and know you're actually low on B12, you'd be wasting £20 on producing B12 rich urine. Literally, money down the toilet.

HellenaHandbasket · 01/11/2018 10:31

What for? Confused I have pernicious anaemia (and regular at the moment too, yawn) and have the jabs 8 weekly, not sure why else you would need them? What are the purported benefits?

B12 can trigger acne too. They're not a beauty thing. There for people who need them to feel well and not like shit. Weird that a beauty salon is offering them although it may make it easier for those who need them to get them before the nhs and their crap guidelines says they do.

Not a beauty thing though no.

*they're

Are you vegetarian or vegan and been recommended this? B12 deficiency is really common in these groups. But I would get advice from your GP on this.

Beauty salons have no business wielding injectionables about. Do they do dodgy teeth-whitening too?
Please don't risk it.
