It's for a wedding.
I'm 5'3". Size 12/14.
It's possibly a bit too long but I quite like it that length?
I think I'll need a vest under it!
What shoes? I don't like shoe boot things or ankle boots. :)
Are black tights OK for a wedding?
I need everything by Thursday!

Day or night?
UK or abroad?

peachypetite · 29/10/2018 11:30

I think it's frumpy and too summery to wear with black tights

Twork · 29/10/2018 11:31

Day. UK. Medium posh hotel.

OK.

I'd wear it with sheer tights and silver or bronze heels. Do you already have heels?

Twork · 29/10/2018 11:32

It is a bit curtainy but I like it and I'm bored of looking for something now. 😁

Love the fabric! Definitely nude tights and maybe nude heels?

Twork · 29/10/2018 11:33

Nope, no suitable shoes if black tights are out.
Open to bronze but not strappy and no showing of toes. 😁

Kate Middleton type nude heels?
Any suggestions where from? All the ones I've seen look quite cheap.

How about LK Bennett? They are a bit pricy and Kate Middleton-ey, but I think they’d look nice. Or maybe a red or rust colour if you could match it to the flowers. Nude would be easier to find though!

whiskeysourpuss · 29/10/2018 11:39

The comfiest nude heels I own are from Primark I got them for £6 in the sale but they have them back in stock in my local one.

ferma · 29/10/2018 11:40

LK Bennett will do Kate Middleton nude courts. I agree with PPs no black tights.

Twork · 29/10/2018 11:43

Price range around £50 so LK Bennett are out (I had a pair of black pumps from there and once I'd broken them in, they were the comfiest shoes I've ever had).

I don't like black tights for a wedding, and agree with nude shoes 👍

Twork · 29/10/2018 11:47

Nude shoes it is then. 😙

If you can walk in heels, New Look have some great dark red shoes.

I love Joanie dresses!
I like the dress on you. I wouldn't put a vest under it as you have a lovely cleavage and you are covering up everything else, so I think a vest would take away from it. I would probably go for nude heels or dark red. Definitely nude/no tights. For same reason as no vest...it's a very 'heavy' dress in that it covers everything so you would risk tipping it in to frump category by adding more dark fabric.

Amber0685 · 29/10/2018 13:01

Sheer tights and black ankle boots.

Amber0685 · 29/10/2018 13:01

Sorry just saw you don't like them. Nude heels

SingCat · 29/10/2018 13:30

Love the dress - definitely not frumpy! How about just putting in a few stitches to stop the top gaping, rather than a vest?

Spam88 · 29/10/2018 13:33

Oh definitely no top underneath! Just pin the two bits together or stick it to yourself with a bit of double sided tape.

DDogMum · 29/10/2018 14:03

M&S always used to do pretty good late Middleton nude courts, and only about £25

highwoodwitch · 29/10/2018 14:03

Black tights might work with a black lacy camisole and then you can wear your black shoes. Maybe with a black short jacket?
