No7?

Just starting to get into good skin care and using different products, so reading lots of blogs and articles etc, however I never see skincare bloggers promote no7 skincare line, just wondering if there a reason for this? One used some stuff in the past but never really gave it a chance but I know of so many people that use the range. Just wondering really what other people think of the range? Tempted by the boots offers at times but then unsure as why a lot of the big bloggers never talk about their products.
Anyone any words of wisdom??

I like the range, but there's just something about it that makes it... not very exciting Confused

I don't know if it's the packaging, or the advertising, but it's just something that never jumps out at me.

I had the advent calendar last year and loved the skincare products, but I'd avoid the mascara.

Sorry if I'm not really answering your question

Someonehelpmi · 29/10/2018 11:00

The foundation isn't great, quite pasty and seems to be orange whatever colour you use! I can't comment on any of the other products though, sorry x

shirleyschmidt · 29/10/2018 11:14

Maybe it's because a lot of online blogging is skewed towards a younger audience, whereas the No7 skincare customer base is probably a bit older than your typical social media user? I don't use it but I have a couple of aunts who swear by it. Agree the mascara is rubbish!

oooompa · 29/10/2018 11:36

No7 mascara is the only one I use, the tubing one, because it's cheapest tubing mascara and normal mascara smudges on me! And their foundation is also my runner up if Revlon don't have my usual. I did get colour matched though and it's exactly right for me.

I have had a look at the skincare range but it seemed very expensive. I'm looking to get a better routine because right now I just use the cheapest facewash I can find in the supermarket, maybe all "proper" skincare products are that price??

GlasgowWorrier · 29/10/2018 11:57

well, being cynical, the bloggers probably don't talk much about No7 because they're not being paid to talk about it.

I think it's a very under-rated brand - No7 skincar's not 'fashionable' but it's cruelty free, has lots of R&D money pumped into products like serums, is nearly always on a 3 for 2 offer, and aims a lot of its marketing and innovation towards the 35+ market instead of chasing millennials. I've just tried the CICA sleep mask, and it's gently effective, and the cleansing balm is as good as Clinique.

Make-up, for me, is a bit more hit and miss, but I do like the skincare, especially when it's often £5 off...

MoltonSilver · 29/10/2018 12:07

Their skincare is good if you are after a day cream, a night cream and a cleanser but if you're getting into skincare you'll be looking for specific things like a retinol product, an acid toner, a good spf, an inexpensive basic moisturiser, 2 cleansers. To find products you like that provide all these things you are probably going to have to hunt around lots of different brands.

Most of my make up is No7. I like it a lot.

Jackshouse · 29/10/2018 12:16

No7 big Christmas gift is always on special buy a couple of weeks before Christmas and that always worked out a very good deal for the creams I buy.

MrsCar · 29/10/2018 12:17

Or in January, boots do 70% sale

Sparkletastic · 29/10/2018 12:33

Don't get on with the make up. The skin care is ok but not great enough to inspire devotion. Try the Boots range 'Your Good Skin' instead - really rate this and excellent VFM.

I use it because it's cruelty free and always seems fine, though skincare prices seem to have gone up horrendously. Might just be I don't buy skincare often. Or makeup.

Jiggy16 · 29/10/2018 18:13

Thanks guys. I quite like the nip and fab range, I'll look into that 'your good skin' range thanks for the advice! Always on the look out for an affordable range!

The serums had good reviews. I have liked their skincare but bit out of my price range at the moment.

I have had one of their their foundation and it is alright.

Jiggy16 · 31/10/2018 22:15

Yea I was thinking would their serum be a good purchase, as it seems to be a 'one for all purposes' rather than using 2 or 3 different ones. Just wondered why I never see it promoted by different 'skin experts'. Just don't want to waste money trying if it's not really that good!

I love the day and night creams, the primer and the stay perfect foundation.

FannyBurney · 31/10/2018 22:21

If you like tubing mascara, the no7 one in the gold tube is fab.

I don't bother with any of the rest of the range, especially not skincare, but I'm tempted by the foundation drops.

FannyBurney · 31/10/2018 22:23

I agree with oooompa basically!

Branleuse · 31/10/2018 22:28

I really like no7. It feels really luxurious to me, l think its as good quality as expensive brands such as EL /clinique, but quite a bit cheaper
