Pre-loved clothing challenge - dress me please?

Usually purchase from eBay - second hand or bargain buys ( last season, unwanted new etc).

Need to be modern and stylish, warm and able to walk ( oh ....sound like my mum, - didn't ever think that would be my criteria when I was teenage!)

Cocktails and a meal in a city, November, dc's 21st celebration.

I am early 50's, size 8, 5ft 2, size 4 shoe. Absolutely no idea what to wear. Want to feel stylish and appropriate.

I do have a recently bought off the shoulder blue velvet top from Finery, which could be a starting point, otherwise anything goes!

I have this, it's lovely on and quite warm

It would look nice/be warmer with black micronet tights and heels

Fab, I hadn't thought of a jumpsuit. Not sure if I would be brave enough? Time for some looking. What style of shoes/boots would I need?

Follow 'Knickers models own' on Instagram - she wore charity shop outfits for a year as part of a fundraising project in memory of her mum

There's lots of inspiration on her page - possibly similar size/age to you

Some gorgeous shoes/boots too.

Thank you. Decisions needed, something I am dreadful at!

And if not a jumpsuit...what other choices would I have. Cost and 'reuse' wise I would wear second hand so as to be able to have a complete outfit.

Have you a link for the top you bought (mentioned in OP) so I can see if I can come up with any re-wearable separates to go with?

FellSwoop · 31/10/2018 11:52

Is it this one?

Yes, it is that top, love it, not worn it yet!

You'll need a nice warm scarf with that top OP! But it's lovely.

@FellSwoop thanks so much for taking time to help me. Some great ideas. I think I will order a jumpsuit and the trousers. Sure to wear them now or over Christmas.

Well, a huge thank you! Plucked up the courage and wore a black jumpsuit, the Lipsy (Next) one - sort of tuxedo like, wrap front with cigarette length trousers. (and leopard print heels). You were right, fab to wear (apart from the toilet!)

Oh wonderful!!! Once you go for a jumpsuit you'll find it hard to go back to separates and dresses! Agree about the toilet though!!
