Kettlewell basics - thoughts?

So...in amongst my wardrobe of patterns I need some plain, simple tops. I've always been drawn to black and neutrals but have noticed recently how much better I look in colour. Kettlewell seems to do some great basics and I like the fabric composition. Can I go wrong with these? I'm 34, size 6-8.

Any thoughts/opinions/experiences?

Thanks! 😊

They are good basics but overpriced in my opinion. Uniqlo for example a much better option if you can find the right colours.
Be careful also- some styles are a bit "mumsie"

A black cardigan I got from there faded really quickly, one from Sainsbury's lasted a lot longer.

I have a few basic tops from there. The quality is good but they still cost more than they should have for what they are.
The colours are perfect. It's worth it just for that. If you are looking for particular shades the high street is so hit and miss.

Thank you for your thoughts so far. Opinions seem quite mixed at the mo! Lyinginthesun, that's exactly what I would be worried about - hopefully with careful choosing I'd be OK!? x

The service is excellent and you can get some bargains in the sale. I have a few long merino cardis I wear all the time. I'd agree that some of it can be mumsy. They do process orders and returns really quickly so if you get free delivery and returns there's nothing to lose.

I echo lots of these points! I have quite a few basic vests and long sleeved tops and they have worn really well - no seams twisting or fabric shrinking. Until recently they didn’t have an extra small size which it sounds like you’ll need, not sure if they have it for every item yet, and I found the arms usually come up very long. The reviews of each item are useful and worth reading before buying! The price is a bit higher but they’re a smallish company with what seems to be a decent ethical supply chain.

I wear their tops all the time. I just can't find the colours I want in high street shops. Kettlewell tops are pricey, but I find they wash well and last, and as a previous poster said they are a small company and good ethically. I'm prepared to pay a bit more for decent quality stuff in colours I will actually wear.

I mostly wear the cotton/modal mix tops, which I love. It's great to be able to buy something in colours which suit you at any time of year, rather than waiting for high street trends.

I really like them too and have quite a few items. I don't find them that expensive, when considering that the quality is excellent and the colors are so beautiful. I tend to think that it is probably what decent quality tops from a smallish company should probably cost us.
