Giving up on Double Wear

I’ve worn it for many years but earlier this year it started to look terrible on my skin, despite nothing in my routine changing. It just kind of sits on top of my skin and clots into small bits, it looks like I have dry flaky skin.

I changed my face wash, moisturiser and primer multiples times, bought new brushes and blenders and tested out applying it at different times but nothing has worked Sad

I’m going to try a new foundation and get a few samples, although that’s always difficult, but was thinking of trying the following:

  1. Fenty
  2. Huda
  3. Make up Forever
  4. Nars Luminous All Day

I need full coverage and don’t like a flat matte finish.

Has anyone tried these foundations? Or moved from ELDW to something better?

Just reporting back as my new EL 'Perfectionist' was delivered yesterday. It's definitely not as full coverage as DW, more like DW light I'd say so was initially a bit disappointed. But ordered the same shade (Ecru) and is a really good match. Didn't realise it's essentially an anti aging serum make up so I guess not meant to be a full foundation. Anyway I felt compelled to post as I'm SURE my wrinkles have lessened?! In just 2 days! It's possibly psychological, but my dry skin is softer for sure. And looks less flaky than with DW on. Am converted! Just been putting shitloads on to cover my thread veins and blotches.

Wow that does sound great bender. Might be worth getting it just for the anti ageing benefits and then layering something over it?

My Dermacol arrived today and I was sceptical to say the least. It was only £12 and really difficult to order as there are so many fakes and no official website. I’m pretty impressed with it so far though, it is very high coverage and goes on nicely. It doesn’t break up or get bitty like DW does and a little goes a very long way.

The only trouble is how easily it transfers, even after I set it with powder. It’s not so bad that I’ll stop using it but I’ll definitely continue with the search for a better foundation and test all of the recommendations I’ve gathered from this thread.

Let us know how you get on Owl

You’ve inspired me to order MUFE ultra HD. Had been using LM tinted moisturiser over the summer and fancied a change for winter

Have you tried using powder with a blending sponge? That does the trick for me. I use the sponge to bounce the powder on. Gives me a lovely finish.

I used to have rosacea and needed full coverage..
I used vichy dermablend foundation and concealer.
It has amazing coverage but is matt.
Nowadays I use the dermablend concealer if needed with Rimmel Wake me up foundation. It covers well and leaves a dewy glow.
Iv tried ELDW and found it looked like a mask on me.

I have Clinique and very pale skin, but it is matt, I used to use Avon but my rep stopped calling. I don't wear everyday despite patchy skin - I'm just not bothered tbh.

I've used ELDW for years, I found it made me look dry and tired.

I've moved to Clinique Beyond Perfect and I love it. Great coverage and looks lovely on. I got a free 10 day sample before I bought the bottle as it's £28.50.

Worth a try if say!
