Outfit for work dinner

I work in an office in a city and am going to a team dinner in a restaurant. I am not in the office that day and will be travelling up for the dinner.

I've not been to any work socials for a while and rarely go out in evenings so I feel completely clueless and don't know if what I plan to wear is right. It is not a formal dinner so no imposed dress code.

I love an Oasis skirt that I have seen on the Next website. Would it be okay to wear the skirt, with a similar long sleeve black top, and ankle boots (similar to the one in the picture, but flatter heel) with black opaque tights?

www.oasis-stores.com/gb/clothing/skirts/jasmine-animal-flippy-skirt/067657.html?dwvar_067657_color=14&position=57&cgid=skirts#page=4&productsMoved=7&hideFeatured=false&start=57&categoryID=skirts

I don't want to be more too dressy, but I want to look right.

I am petite, 5 foot 1, size 8, small on top, but slightly pear shaped so something that is too big on top could fit me on waist and hips (thanks to pregnancies). I have one pair of blue tight skinny jeans that I could wear but I can't really wear heels anymore, and I don't have any that I think are suitable anymore. For work, I like skater dresses, and feel comfortable in the style of skirt that I have linked below. I always wear ballet pumps at work.

I covert Oasis clothing, and find that the petite section in Dorothy Perkins is pretty much true to size but haven't liked anything from there for a while. Very limited budget.

Can anyone help please?

No to the jeans. I think the skirt is fine with ankle boots as in the picture. Not ballet shoes if you can avoid it. Animal prints are very popular this winter.
