Uniqlo.

Am I the only person to find everything I order looks terrible or feels disgusting. I had such high hopes of the micro fleece dress. Oh my God it feels so synthetic and clingy I can’t even bear to touch it. Akin to sleeping in sheets from Brentford Nylons back in the day. The Ezy trousers look rubbish on and I had to give away the heat tech tops to my mum as they were like being wrapped in plastic.
Please tell me I’m not the only one that doesn’t feel the love?

Their cotton is very good.

I don't buy loads from Uniqlo but I'm more than happy with what I have

Merino wool jumpers
The ultra light jacket (going into its 5th winter)
The ribbed t-shirts

DD has used the Heat Tech layers when she went ski-ing , she really liked them

She wears the pyjama shorts and strappy tops at night in summer

I buy loads from Uniqlo and am really happy with everything I have. But, I try to avoid man made fibres as much as I can.

OhHolyJesus · 25/10/2018 19:16

I'm a recent convert due to their heat tech stuff and the underwear. Interesting to read you didn't like the fabric OP, I'm going to get some of their cashmere for Christmas as my mum likes hers and it's cheaper than GAP.

MoltonSilver · 25/10/2018 19:37

Cashmere is very soft but some of the other woollens are very scratchy.

ShopoholicIn · 25/10/2018 20:08

I love their stuff have one heattech thermal inner , 2 downs, few trousers , tops n a recent but was merino jumper..i like all of it.. their sizing is very off but i usually like their stuff.

9unctured6icycle · 25/10/2018 20:21

I went haring over there when the Marimekko stuff came out but didn't buy anything. I look terrible in a dropped shoulder, I need fitted clothes. A lot of their casual stuff is boxy and it makes me look matronly.

SilentIsla · 25/10/2018 21:16

Uniqlo merino is fantastic as is their cotton.
Maybe you should move away from synthetics.

SilentIsla · 25/10/2018 21:21

Their collaborations are brilliant too - with J W Anderson and Inés de la Fressange to name but two.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 25/10/2018 21:34

I love their cashmere, and it ages really well. I recently bought a pair of the velvet Heattech jeggings and they're great; rely comfy and look good too.

Notcontent · 25/10/2018 22:15

I love Uniqlo but I do tend to stick to stuff made from natural fibres. However, I do love the heattech range!! The scoop neck long sleeved tops are a staple for me in winter - I wear them under nearly everything!

stationaryace · 26/10/2018 00:02

I lobe uniqlo but find their stock in store is far better than what is available online. Which was great when I was in Sydney for 6 months and basically bought my wardrobe from there, but kinda sucks now I'm back in Scotland. I lived in their cropped jeggings and funky tees as the mum of a newborn but they don't have the same designs available online. Heattech is coming into its own this winter and we've got supplies for all the family seeing as we live in the cold North.

teta · 26/10/2018 09:46

Yes I think you’re right stationary. When I lived in Asia and could actually go into a shop I did find things that suited me. My daughters really liked the lighweight summer trousers last year too in Malaysia I think. I think out of several online orders I have kept one cashmere jumper, because I really like the colour. Though the shape is small and boxy.
I like the sound of the Velvet leggings Greebo.

I bought some high rise cigarette jeans recently and they're great.

hammeringinmyhead · 26/10/2018 10:23

I love it but only buy their cotton tops. I didn't like a heattech top I bought as it was too shiny and clingy.

Elledorado · 26/10/2018 10:33

The only things I really rate are the merino v necks (my husband and I both have them for work and they are great) and the kids down jackets. Every other think Ive ordered has gone back as it's frumpy and the wrong shape for me. The cashmere jumper I bought pilled really badly. The cigarette trousers that I loved when first tried on go saggy after an hour or two (to be fair I bought the size 10 and after reading reviews I should have gone for an 8 or even a 6).

SwedishEdith · 26/10/2018 10:39

I love loads of their stuff - about 50-75% of my wardrobe. But I do try to avoid man made fibres as far as possible and have to order a few sizes to see which works better. The Ezy trousers are ace - a work staple for me. But, I have had to alter a few pairs a little as the width and length isn't consistent - a problem with all mass-produced clothing.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/10/2018 15:09

I bought a 100% wool (lambswool) crew neck jumper today. I'd been searching for a green jumper but they were either too wide/short or too synthetic or not nice shade of green.
Even my beloved M&S didn't have it.

£25 so pretty good value Smile

Growingboys · 26/10/2018 15:33

Cashmere jumpers and puffa-type gilets are great.
