Are they old school cool or really not cool?

I've got a pale grey pair and love them - incredibly comfortable and only trainers I've ever had that look as good with skirts and tights as well as jeans.

My uber stylish sister also has them Smile

YouWereRight · 25/10/2018 18:48

I love them. I have a khaki pair.

Starfish83 · 27/10/2018 08:41

Definitely old school cool. I have a pair and love them! They're super-comfy too. x

cantquitebelieveit12 · 27/10/2018 11:11

I prefer the Club C style but it’s probably because I grew up in South London & classics remind me too much of my youth!

TeaAddict235 · 27/10/2018 13:52

They are hideous. They should be banned. They give everyone cankles. That's reebok for you though

louderthan · 27/10/2018 14:16

Very cool. I've got a gold pair.

teawamutu · 27/10/2018 16:23

@TeaAddict235 can't speak for anyone else's lower extremities but definitely no reebok-related cankles here Smile

TeaAddict235 · 27/10/2018 16:36

Sorry @teawamutu , I might have come across a bit harsh there in my opinion. I just really can't abide them; I have such a hatred for them as they were worn by the perpetrators (Nobbs etc) of the lad Stephen Lawrence in every single photo, and so they are forever etched in my memory since being a teenager.

My sister said that she feels that way about some items because of R Kelly. And DH said that he could never wear New Balance trainers as the N on the trainers was the brand to go to for the far right in the city where he grew up in Germany. It's a city that still has extreme problems with racism. So when I was voicing that a pair of dad New balance Trainers would be something that I might pick up, he exploded. A chap we know who works in marketing said that marketing companies know that such events have an impact on consumers. Just have to look at sports stars.

cantquitebelieveit12 · 27/10/2018 16:41

yes TeaAddict235, Reebok classics remind me of a certain type of person but I thought it was just me.

teawamutu · 27/10/2018 17:01

@TeaAddict235 didn't know that - I have plenty of other clothes I avoid because of associations so I know where you're coming from though.

cantquitebelieveit12 · 27/10/2018 17:09

however I would like to add I wouldn’t judge or stereotype others who wear them, they are just not for me. It’s funny how loads of my male friends wore them in the 90s but won’t wear them now, happy to revisit nike air max & adidas though.
