North Face

Which North Face parka should I buy, Arctic or Metropolis? The Metropilis is 600 cheaper, so is the Arctic better somehow? I think I prefer the look of the Arctic, not really into puffs type coats, but the Metropolis looks longer.
Could anyone tell me why they live their's and which one?

I have neither of these (helpful!) but I have a Rab Deep Cover parka which is similar to the North Face Arctic one and I love it! Based on the two you have chosen I would go for the Arctic because the other one looks a bit cheap (which it isn't).

Oh, and I say this on all these threads - if you have money to spend get an Arcteryx Patera Parka.

I have to say after previously worked for many years in Blacks and then in smaller independent outdoor shops before working for a while in outdoor education for a LA it is irritating the heck out of me seeing the brand just being called North Face. We used to get pulled if we shotrtened it to that . It was either initials ( TNF) or the full title!

Hope your "600" price difference was a typo for 60, since neither of them are over $400 here in Canada

The Metropolis is only water resistant, whereas the Arctic is waterproof. The Arctic is made of a much more windproof fabric too. It's a much heavier coat, designed for more extreme weather (hence the name!)

Ha, sorry about typo, and name shortening. I'll probably go with the Arctic, already have other coats for less arctic weather. Thank you all

The artic Parker is their warmest one.
Highly recommended. I'm trying to find reasons to buy new coat as I've had mine for years but it's still as good as new!
Have you got an outlet near you? Cotswoldputdoor.com do discounted ones and Blacks May have money off ?

Having recently bought something similar from Cotswold Outdoor I would not recommend using them. My order took weeks and many irate phone calls. They are the most disorganised company I've ever dealt with.
