Pearl earrings. Are they dated? Aging? Or classic? I am 43 btw. And want to smarten up my work look...

I wore my pearl earrings yesterday, i’m 51. They are a classic look that never date and look classy. Loads of celebrities wear pearl earrings, have a look on Pinterest. There are loads of styles and colours available.

Laska5772 · 22/10/2018 18:12

I have a black pearl necklace (im older than you but have had it for about 12 years so my late 40's ) I love it and it always gets compliments

Laska5772 · 22/10/2018 18:13

CutesyUserName · 22/10/2018 18:16

I think they are classy and classic. I love my pearl studs and wear them often.

RunningOnMusic · 22/10/2018 18:33

I have a beautiful pearl necklace and earrings that I wear all the time

Bluntness100 · 22/10/2018 18:40

I always wear small pearl studs, have done for at least a decade, I think they work well with long dark hair. Bizzarely I got complimented the other day by a woman in her twenties who suddenly said I love your earrings. I was slightly bemused. The studs have to be the warm cream colour though and not the white fake look.

I wouldn't wear the necklace too.

However I have never been into big or colourful earrings. I never wear necklaces, although I have several very thin silver bangles on one wrist, and an expensive watch on the other. I tend to go understated I guess and woild never go statement jewellery.

I think it depends on personal style.

Bluntness100 · 22/10/2018 18:41

Sorry I should say I'm 49.

meow1989 · 22/10/2018 18:43

I'm late 20s and love my little pearl studs that I have. Several friends have larger pearl earrings too so don't think old fashioned. Would wear the necklace or the earrings though, too matchy matchy otherwise

puppymouse · 22/10/2018 18:53

I have Tiffany pearl studs which I alternate with diamonds that match my engagement ring. Don't wear any others. I love them. Wouldn't wear a pearl necklace though.

RiskIt4Biscuit · 22/10/2018 18:58

I am 35 and have worn pearl studs for many years. I think they are a classic piece of jewellery.

Pearl necklaces are also classic, but I think they are more popular with the older generations, and I wouldn't expect to see classic pearl necklaces on younger women.
I don't have one myself, and I am not looking to buy one.

I wouldn't wear a pearl necklace with pearl earrings - I'd probably wear the necklace with diamond studs.

I think pearls always make your skin look nice.

AnneLovesGilbert · 22/10/2018 19:03

I love pearls! Always have. I’ve got pearl studs, pearl drops and a couple of strings of pearls. I don’t wear the earrings and necklace together as i think it’s too much for me. I’m in my 30s and have been wearing pearls for over a decade.

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 22/10/2018 19:11

Had ‘em on, at the weekend... 56.

Late 30s and I love my pearls - have done since I was late teens. I have lots and wear them often (although only one piece at a time).

Amber0685 · 22/10/2018 20:49

I wear pearl studs, love them. I think they catch the light and illuminate the face, very flattering for everyone, go with everything as well.

Bluntness100 · 22/10/2018 20:57

Where do you all buy the studs please? I can only ever find tiny ones that look like the studs used when people have their ears pierced!

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 23/10/2018 08:48

I read, years ago, that the creamier shade of pearl can really give a halo “brightening” effect to the face.

CherryPavlova · 23/10/2018 08:52

I wear very little jewellery but have a few pieces that I’m prepared to don. Pearl earrings and necklace are one - I love the feel of pearls and the milky iridescence. They are timeless and so much more flattering than bling for daywear.

Tattybear16 · 23/10/2018 09:18

Check out qvc or TJC online for pearl earrings, I’ve had some lovely bargains.

justaweeone · 23/10/2018 09:43

I have studs but also these

White pearls are not "fake", how ridiculous. Whiter shades suit cooler skin tones and and creamier shades suit warmer tones. They definitely brighten the complexion. A photographer once told me that pearls are the best jewellery you can wear near your face.

XingMing · 23/10/2018 10:39

62, and still wear pearls. My favourites are dark grey, but I also have pink-ish and white. All baroque, though I shall eventually inherit DM's classic single string. Less keen on earrings, but that's because my earlobes are small. And I would not wear a matched set don't love the dowager look.

OlennasWimple · 24/10/2018 00:44

I wear them too - rarely necklace and earrings together, though
