What to do with my hair? Shorter or not?

I have had the same hair cut for a few years. Its very fine and straight, lots of blonde highlights (natural colour is dark blonde/light brown) and I had it all one length, just past my shoulders.

Earlier this year my hairdresser persuaded me to have layers cut in and now the ends are wispy/straggly and if I blow dry it on a morning it quickly reverts back to looking straggly. Doesnt help that colouring it has dried the ends out I suppose.

I am seriously thinking about having it chopped a few inches into a bob. My main concern is that I quite often go to the gym before work and I dont have any way of blow drying it afterwards so I need to be able to put it up in some way.

My son tells me I look younger with my hair up too so maybe it's time for a change. Anyone gone shorter recently? Any advice?

Go for the bob, if you have fine hair in particular it will make it look fuller and thicker. I did the exact same thing 2 years ago and haven't looked back since, best decision I ever made!

In terms of the gym, I usually grip half of it up as it wont all go in a bobble, just to keep it out of my face and head. I rarely blow dry my hair afterwards just our of sheer laziness so I put the top 1/2 or 1/4 of my hair up in a high bobble, or just put the front bits tucked behind my ears and it looks fine

Thanks, I think its pretty much decided. I asked a good friend today and she very diplomatically said "yeah, maybe its time for a change".

If I keep it long enough to get into a ponytail then I must be able to do something with it when I have been to the gym.
