Very chunky thighs- what trousers?

I have been on a city break this weekend wandering around and jealous of all the people wearing what look like loose, comfy trousers while I am in skinny jeans that are killing me. They are fine stretchy and fit me (eg they go on!) but I would love some looser jeans or chinos or cotton trews but I never get anything that looks good with my enormous thighs- they always cling down to my knees (if they even get up my thighs in the first place) and then leave me with a muffin top round the middle, a lifesaver ring of blubber until the knee and then, yeah nice until the ankle but that's just not enough! I'm a size 10-12 so pretty slim in general but my bum/hips/thighs are way bigger than the rest of me (I'm an A-Line skirt girl). Any suggestions would be gratefully received Smile

Mensy or peg trousers. Think Bertie Wooster only shorter length. Or long wide-leg.

Those are the trousers that frighten me most of all! They look like they need the confidence that only willowy thighs creates to carry off that Lauren and Hardy crosses with Lily Cole look

Larger size so they fit thighs nicely, then get the waist tailored in.
