Help me find my holy grail bra?

Firstly I will admit that I’m peeved that people with a smaller bust can buy 2 packs of bras for a tenner!

What I want seems impossible. I am a 36g, and I need a full cup padded, underwire bra that doesn’t cost the earth. They don’t seem to make padded ones in my size, and it drives me mad!

Freya deco bra, not cheap but not expensive either?

BigusBumus · 21/10/2018 13:49

Please can I ask why you need/like padded? I am a 36DD and desperately search for non padded, not wanting to add to my already ample bosom.

Ohdobakeoffdear · 21/10/2018 13:54

I wear a similar size (36G or H depending on the make) and tend to stick to Freya and Panache and also Ewa Michalak. I haven’t found cheap bras that actually do the job, without digging into my skin or giving my boobs an odd shape. I’m quite broad shouldered so it’s key that the bra fits well, without spreading the breast tissue to the sides like pancakes.
I always shop in the sales, I buy from Debenhams, Brastop and Figleaves (all online) and usually order more than one size to try on. I would really recommend Ewa Michalak, the brand doesn’t seem to be very popular in the UK but I’ve always been happy with my purchases.

Seconding Freya deco, love love love them.

FourteenCows · 21/10/2018 14:27

I’ll have a look at Freya, thank you. I find it so tricky, I just don’t want to pay £30 for a bra!

Buying different sizes and sending back the others is a good idea.

Bigus, I like slight padding as I don’t like nipples showing. I’m not talking maximiser I just don’t like completely unpadded

I feel your pain! I'm pregnant and they are ballooning and weren't small to begin with. Currently wearing non padded and you can definitely see more than I'd like

SuzeD29 · 21/10/2018 15:16

I'm a 34E or 34F depending on shops and have just bought 2 lipsy bras from Ann summers. They're fantastic and give great shape and support

Myfanwyprice · 21/10/2018 15:21

Try Asda, I’m a 34g and find their bras surprisingly good.

huttub · 21/10/2018 15:25

Leia lingerie is a great site. Apparently Sainsbury's do a good selection of larger size bras too.

FTFF · 21/10/2018 15:31

@FourteenCows what style of bra do you like?
I'm a 30G and swear by the Debenhams own balcony bra. Think called Marie and is £20. Still not dead cheap but better than most and really comfy. Just enough padding to stop nips being on show.

Freya Deco or Idol. I know you don’t want to spend too much on a bra, but really a well fitting bra is an investment. I’d rather have 3/4 good fitting ones than 8/10 cheaper ones.

hendricksy · 21/10/2018 15:47

Marks and Spencer sumptuously soft is all of the above .

OrcinusOrca · 21/10/2018 15:58

I'm nowhere near as well endowed (30E) but I also love Freya bras. Well worth it. I've got about five or six of them. So comfortable, wash well too.

TSSDNCOP · 21/10/2018 16:00

Freya every time. There is a sale on the Leia site right now.

Thumbcat · 21/10/2018 16:06

I'm a 30f a bought this www.marksandspencer.com/sumptuously-soft-underwired-striped-full-cup-t-shirt-bra-dd-g/p/p22429722?image=SD_02_T33_3239A_AX_X_EC_90&color=ALMOND&prevPage=plp&pdpredirect a couple of weeks ago. I was not expecting to find anything suitable in M&S but I'm really pleased with this, it's very comfortable and supportive. It listed as out of stock in your size but you might be able to find one it in store.

TigerJae · 21/10/2018 16:07

They haven’t got your size at the moment in black or white, but this is my current favourite. I’m a 32F. It’s lightly padded, very comfortable, good coverage, flattering.
Hopefully they might get your size in stock soon.

I’m a 34g and usually shop at bravissimo then look for same bra online cheaper
Debenhams also have a good range in bigger cup sizes for under £20
