I've got a corduroy pinafore dress that I'm cyrrently wearing to death.

I'm looking for heavy material that won't cling to my big belly. Any recommendations pretty please??

FruityB, can we have a link for the New Look dress? Can’t find it online. Thanks

HellenaHandbasket · 22/10/2018 21:09

I had high hopes for one I got from Gap just now, but too lightweight.

Ifonlyiweretaller · 23/10/2018 12:53

what do you all weat to stop them clinging please? I find a lot of the Seasalt ones are such a heacy fabric that they stick to my larger bits! (and I have more of those than I should have Grin ) I have had M&S full slips (gosh I sound like my mother now...) but wondered what everyone else does?

DontCallMeCharlotte · 23/10/2018 13:02

Half slips (I've been wearing them since my 20s and I'm now in my 50s) because "that" picture of Lady Di scarred me for life!

www.debenhams.ie/women/dresses/mantaray I've got this for tights and ankle boots. Very comfortable and thick material. Like the Elsa's attic shirt dress!

DontCallMeCharlotte · 23/10/2018 13:12

I love those Manteray dresses (which one is yours mikado1?) but they're not exactly seasonal are they? Even accounting for the Indian summer we've been enjoying. Do they do a A/W range?

mikado1 · 23/10/2018 15:33

Oh sorry Charlotte, I thought I'd linked mine, will find! Mine is heavy material and can definitely winter it up! Plus I'm quite a warm body so with tights in work I won't even need a cardigan until December!

I have a burgundy corduroy pinafore that I'm wearing as much as I can with a black jumper underneath. Any black jumper - bardot, crew neck, v-neck or high neck.

GeoffreysCat · 23/10/2018 16:15

I like some of those Seasalt ones. I've never ordered from them before. What's their sizing like?

mikado1 · 23/10/2018 16:38

And I'm wondering about sizing from Elsa's attic, I see they're out of size 10s in the red..

PlaymobilPirate · 23/10/2018 19:05

I saw that mantaray one in debenhams but twitched at spending 50 quid on a day dress. I'm not skint but struggle to spend money on me. I need to get out of my 20 quid bracket I think!

Seasalt sizing is accurate verging on generous. If you were going for one of the swingy tops or dresses then maybe order the size below as well. Returns are pretty easy.

scattercushion17 · 23/10/2018 19:29

Have you ever tried Pepperberry/Bravissamo? Their dresses may work for you.

chapthedoor · 24/10/2018 21:29

I just bought this to wear with woolly tights and boots. It's a bargain, might get it in red too.

Nothing yet - it's far too warm for thick tights. I've stuck to White Stuff in the past but am beginning to be tempted by EWM tunic dresses like this www.ewm.co.uk/navy-leaf-print-dress-with-cowl-neck-2105635.html?___store=default

mikado1 · 25/10/2018 14:45

I got that next one too! Plus a notch neck shift, also v reasonable. The shift more for work but will still wear with tights and ankle boots.
