I got Skinoren online from Boots acne clinic. It’s a great product but I had to build up use from every third day to every day over about 6 weeks. It was brilliant for my hormonal acne

I didn’t know boots did that so thank you. Did they question why you didn’t see your gp?.

No, not at all. You select which treatment you want, then answer a few questions. It arrived very quickly afterwards.
There are other similar online services where you can upload photos I believe.
I paid £30 for 2 tubes so much more expensive than a prescription.

NiceUnusualDifferent · 19/10/2018 18:47

I’ve now switched to a lower percentage which I can buy much more cheaply as a kind if maintenance

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/10/2018 19:03

Thank you, that will be my back up plan if she says no.

Dr prescribed it, got the impression it’s not widely used.

My GP prescribes Finacea cream for acne rosacea, which is an azalaic acid suspension.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/10/2018 15:24

Maybe she knows it as that, mines skinoren. I’m hoping it will get rid of my red scars.

Finacea is a lower percentage (15%) than skinoren which is 20% it’s also a gel rather than a cream

Tasharuby1 · 20/01/2020 14:05

Just bumping this up. I’ve done 4 months of soolantra and my skin is still not great and is super sensitive. Anyone used finacea cream ?
If so is it drying? Was thinking of using it over night. Do you put moisturiser over the top ?
Anyone had any success with it ?

silver1977 · 20/01/2020 15:38

What is your skin issue Tasharuby1? I've not heard of those but after 4 months I would have thought you would be seeing a difference by now.

Rachelfromfriends1 · 20/01/2020 16:53

I occasionally get chest breakouts rather than face.

Finacea 15% gel severely dried out and irritated my skin, within a few days my skin was flaking off with my chest constantly red & sore - I couldn’t even wear a bra. GP who prescribed it advised to stop using it rather than powering through with moisturiser as it was that bad.

Skinoren 20% cream never dried out my skin or caused any issue, it works really well albeit slowly. No reactions when used on my face either.

Tasharuby1 · 20/01/2020 17:05

I have Seborrhoeic Dermatitis, large pores rosacea, redness and sensitive skin.
What’s Skinoren 20% ?

Rachelfromfriends1 · 20/01/2020 17:08

It’s azelaic acid too

Tasharuby1 · 20/01/2020 17:09

I’m using bebareface face wash at the moment followed by Cerave moisturising lotion as I can’t find a moisturiser that works all day and doesn’t irritate my skin.
I tried zz cream after the soolantra but this made my skin even more sensitive.
