Red frumpy maroon colored long skirt of a shirt....im 5 feet 3,and shirt is like an ugly dress...no choice but to wear it...we went from wearing what we want to having to wear these disastrous shirts...

"They look nice..." says work, and "that's why we have you all wearing them..."

Unless you're super thin,I'm curvy in places, think transgender, the shirt looks hideous....

You have my sympathy, they look shit on pretty much everyone. Especially matched with 'work' pants and shoes.

LoniceraJaponica · 18/10/2018 23:05

I think polo shirts are deeply unflattering on everyone.

Lucked · 18/10/2018 23:20

Yep very few women can pull them off and only if they are fitted in the right places.

Takes all he hassle out of what to wear to work though. What industry?

DinosApple · 19/10/2018 07:22

I'm in men's polo shirts during the warmer months and men's fleeces when it's cold. All branded and no women's cut in our part of the car trade.

Yes it sucks! On my days off I wear my nicer clothes to compensate.

Secretsquirrel101 · 19/10/2018 07:26

They truly sound awful. At least my work polos are navy, but they are also either farrr too short (a 10, which fits okay, other than squeezing my boobs) stops short of my belly button, so I had to go for a 14, which just about meets my jeans and just accept the inevitable swamping. It’s ridiculous... but not as bad S the proper button up shirts, like a bloody circus tent.

MoltonSilver · 19/10/2018 08:30

Could you have it altered slightly?

livinginabubbletea · 19/10/2018 08:41

If there’s a men’s or women’s version then go for the men’s.
I tried the women’s and they are so ridiculously fitted that they stretch over your boobs and don’t cover your stomach.
I’m in men’s now and although not particularly flattering they at least skim my body!

bananaboats · 19/10/2018 08:44

Polo shirts & matching fleeces here! I try & wear nice jeans/trousers & shoes with it but honestly they don't look great on anyone.

LostInShoebiz · 19/10/2018 08:45

What do you mean by “think transgender”?

My question isn’t an attack or anything to do with trans issues; I’m just genuinely baffled by what you mean.

ChairinSage · 19/10/2018 08:56

You have my sympathy. My work uniform is a navy polo shirt and men's cargo trousers. There are so few women in the factory that "It's not cost effective to source women's trousers". I look ridiculous as I'm pear shaped, not man shaped. The pockets are brilliant though.

I put up with it during the week because I love my job and compensate by wearing nice stuff at weekends. An added bonus is nobody from work recognises me if they bump into me at Tesco...
