Where are all the leggings??

I need some new leggings for under short dresses for the winter.

My thick sainsburys ones from last year have now faded and they don't stock them any more. Next ones are see-through. M&s ones with a the decent reviews are sold out.

I need black leggings, thick ones (maybe even fleece lined....) and they must be matt not shiny like tights are.

Where are they all hiding??? Help me please any of you that have succeeded!!! Oh, also I need a size 18-20 so nothing from topshop please 😁

I know people who swear by Mint Velvet leggings, might be worth a try.

WildFlower2018 · 18/10/2018 23:25

I bought a pair of amazingly comfy leggings from Primark recently, they're thick and soft and velvety almost (but not!). Hard to explain. Lovely tho.

I bought them in a festive fair aisle type print to wear around the house but I'm going back for them in black to wear under dresses. They were affordable too with it being Primarni.

Titsywoo · 18/10/2018 23:26

Mint velvet ones are great

Casmama · 19/10/2018 01:00

Not bought them for a while but for £6 these have to be worth a try.

Bluesheep8 · 19/10/2018 06:24

I second Primark. The thick fleece/velvet lined ones.

evilharpy · 19/10/2018 06:37

Dye your faded Sainsburys ones?

Pywife2 · 19/10/2018 06:49

Fatface.

Branleuse · 19/10/2018 06:55

Sainsburies still sell them. Can you get to a different store or buy online. You cant beat them

InMySpareTime · 19/10/2018 07:02

H&M do decent black leggings that last, for £8.
I'm still on the search for any leggings that aren't black though, I like colours.

Lasagnefordinner · 19/10/2018 07:02

The primary ones are fab. Thick, fleece lined and cheap enough to buy a few. Fading doesn’t seem any more or less than any other black leggings from what I’ve noticed.

auberbene · 19/10/2018 07:07

I second Primark, but also I think PP who said dye your Sainsbury's ones had a good idea.

I dye my TopShop jeans, which are notorious for fading but fit really well.

I just buy some fabric dye from Wilko, leave it in the sink for an hour. Pop it in the wash and they look new again

I bought a pair from Gap before I was pregnant that I wore through pregnancy when I was enormous, and still wear now at my thinnest (ie they are very adaptable size wise!) - can't swear these are the exact same ones but they haven't gone baggy, thin or faded in 3plus years and are the best thick leggings I've ever found:

afrikat · 19/10/2018 07:25

Definitely Mint Velvet I've become a recent convert

Odiepants · 19/10/2018 09:22

The Matalan ones are good for the price - thick and fit well.

Happycow · 19/10/2018 10:30

Thanks all - very pleased to have so many recommendations!! Mint velvet ones ordered, will have a look in Primark and Matalan at the weekend.

And great to know he sainsburys ones are still available online! THey are a bit long for me, but so soft and thick I might get another pair as backup. I seem to be in an endless search for the perfect leggings.

I bought some from Primark (they were up with the thermal/base layers nor usual leggings in our local store )
I find most Primark lower half clothes don't fit me , but these are fine. Nice and thick, enough lycra to not bag.
Not see through.

Happycow · 20/10/2018 08:19

Thanks @70 I'll check that section when I go in

Actually saying that about the mint velvet ones if you have skinny ankles like me the bottoms don't tend to be skin tight which looks a bit crap with boots but they shrink a bit after a few washes.
