Can we please talk about H&Ms mental sizing?

I don’t mind if a brand all comes up small or big, I don’t care what number is in my clothes as long as they fit, but H&M seem to just pluck random numbers from a hat and stick them on the clothes. I have several XSs that fit, Ls that fit, 12/14/16s that fit.... it can’t all be drawn up to different fabrics surely?

Actually I've found them loads better since they brought the new sizing in.

Still seems that some of their stuff has moved to the new sizes and some hasn't. I could understand this when they first moved over but it's a few months on now. I've bought a size 14 dress and size 18 skirt in the same week.

The kids sizing is strange aswell 2-4 years 4-6 years

Yes I don't know why they do the kids sizing like that. It's quite a big size difference and makes it harder really.

I think their DIVIDED range seems to be aimed at teenagers and the sizing is MUCH smaller than the rest of the range. It's in a whole separate section on the website which is when I realised because it's not clear in-store.

Makes me feel sorry for teenage girls who are above a size 8 though.

I wore pretty much nothing but their black leggings for rhe first year after giving birth. But the same leggings in the same range are not the same size. I remember buying a new pair and being devastated that they were so tight, I didnt realise I'd put on weight and assumed my others had just stretched with me. But I went back to them shop out of curiosity and checked - holding up several of the same leggings, all labelled L, were vastly different. Some Ls were smaller than some Ms.

I gave up buying them after that, it just made me feel shit, rifling through the rack to find the biggest 'large' sizes I could find.

Strangely I still browse in h&m and sometimes pick out things to try in there but I can't remember the last time I actually bought.
