Alternatives to a classic Barbour??

I need a waterproof, warmish coat to get me through Autumn/Winter school runs. I thought I’d set on a classic Barbour jacket (village school in a rural-ish setting, wet/muddy/cold walk most days).

I want to look smart and stylish, but also have something that’s functional and will last. I’m not a twinset and pearls type, so will wear it over my leaopard print, with skinnies, over a nordic knit etc.

I’m now wondering if there’s something else out there that’ll have the waterproof and longevity, but that’s a bit more modern.

Help me, oh style gurus 😄

I have a Parka London coat which is warm and waterproof. Mine has an inner bomber which can be removed and worn by itself/the outer can be worn by itself when it’s not cold. It’s got a massive hood with a faux fur trim which is removable - the hood is big enough not to blow down when it’s windy. Definitely recommend it!
