What can I wear on a night out that won’t make me look big?

Average height, size 12-14 so not huge but all my friends are tiny size 8s. I feel massive whenever we go out and I never seem to pick the right clothes to make me feel slim however carefully I think I’ve chosen.

Hourglass figure but with big shoulders and boobs and a tendency to gain weight on my upper abdomen (rather than lower on my tummy, which would be fairly easily camouflaged). HELP Sad (please)

I have one friend who completely rocks Lindy-Bop dresses but she has the whole look and lifestyle. It’s fab on her but not something I’d touch with a barge pole.

Skater dresses and smock dresses are a total no-no with a large upper abdomen Sad

How about something like this?

Go for fellswoop's suggestions, your shape sounds very similar to mine op and i have that closet dress too, it's beautiful on and really flattering, I wear it for work - lot shorter than the model so its much longer on me. For a night out the tops that fellswoop suggested are lovely (may have just bought the zebra print one).

You could just get fatter friends. Then wear anything you like.

Maybe try a con dress, can help. Wear flats and not heels maybe?

You sound the same shape as me OP. Are you tall too? I am, and end up feeling like a proverbial brick shit house next to my petite friends.

When your weight is round your upper abdomen (ribs) like me its hard to hide the muffin top. I find high waisted jeans/jeggings with long loose (but not too loose) tops are good, with boots to balance out the top heaviness.
