£5? Is that a typo? If not, you'd be best finding something in your wardrobe and buying a pair of primarks suck it in pants to make everything look sleeker

DarklyDreamingDexter · 17/10/2018 00:09

If it is indeed only £5, visit your local charity shops, especially if you live in a 'naice' area, to see if you can grab a bargain.

Try gumtree x

Lonelynessie · 17/10/2018 10:16

www.everything5pounds.com/en/

I've not tried it but it looks ok. No idea about the quality though.

MsOliphant · 17/10/2018 10:18

Quality from everything five pounds is dire.

Because it’s £5.

OP do you really only have five pounds for a black tie or are you literally begging?

Shockers · 17/10/2018 10:18

I doubt you’d find anything in a charity shop for £5.

Angelcd · 17/10/2018 11:09

Primark ,new look or h & m u may find something in a sale.
Could u not borrow from a friend or family member.x

Sitranced · 17/10/2018 11:30

Do what was said upthread. Spend the £5 on primark spanx and find something in your wardrobe or borrow from a friend.

oohyoudevilyou · 17/10/2018 11:35

Go on eBay, click through to dresses, set your price from 0 to £5 and put your postcode and how far you're willing to travel to collect and see what comes up that's either Buy-It-Now or finishing by tomorrow. Sometimes focusing on getting something, anything isn't a bad thing, and lets face it, timescale and budget don't leave you a lot of choice Grin

I used this "blind panic" approach a few months back and got a lovely Debenham's Collection dress for £5. Picked it up Friday lunchtime a couple of miles from work and wore it Saturday night!

Ellapaella · 17/10/2018 12:46

I would just borrow something from someone to be honest. £5 is unlikely to get you anything that you feel comfortable in at such short notice.
Charity shops might be willing to let you bargain with them but not sure £5 would even go very far there.
And if you buy a new dress you'll also need to be sure you have shoes that go with it.

If you meant £50 then Debenhams have lots of occasion dresses on sale at the moment. I got one two weeks ago that had been reduced from £89 to £26 so they'd be worth a try.

Go to Primark!

MoltonSilver · 17/10/2018 20:52

£5 for a roll of bin bags.
Problem solved Grin

That everything a fiver shop isn't that bad.

Get something plain and accessorize.
