Which type of nails

I'm getting my nails done this week. It's not something I usually bother with but I've a few special occasions in the next few weeks so decided to treat myself.

Of course soon as I booked it my nails started breaking. Most of them are now short and look like crap.

What's going to make them look better? Gel or acrylics? I'm a total nail novice

Gel will be better for your nails.

I'd go for gels. I always get my nails filed short when I go for shellac as I think it looks better (on me) when my nails are shorter.

I'm so ignorant about these things. I thought gel was more like nail varnish and didn't make your nails look better whereas acrylic would be better shaped etc

Hi Red. Gel nails to me mean nail
varnish that stays put on your nails (no chipping) for 2-3 weeks. I understand acrylics to be false nails. You can have gel polish put on acrylic nails to give long lasting colour but I strongly recommend trying gel nails - brands like Shellac or Gelish - on your own nails as they may well look a lot better than you think.
