What tops with miniskirts in my 40s?

Despite my elderly years, I love a good a-line miniskirt, with thick tights and boots. But what should they be worn with now I'm a bit older? Loose/baggy tops often don't work on me because I have big boobs and unless I wear something fitted I can look mumsy (I'm a size 8 everywhere except my irritatingly out of proportion boobs which are a 32 DD). Any ideas?

You sound a similar shape to me. I like these kind of tops as not really tight but still fitted

That looks perfect! Thank you Quentin. Any other style tips for me?!

I like a dress with an asymmetric hem as well.
I'm currently looking for the right long sleeve winter casual dress but not found the right one yet!

Ooh yes, great shaped dress. You're good, Quentin!

I like a slightly fitted v neck jumper, or a v neck over a polo neck.

averageisgood · 15/10/2018 20:40

Sorry that should be v neck knit, showing my age there...

helpmum2003 · 15/10/2018 20:45

Yes I'm similar age and size and would wear a polo neck.

MoltonSilver · 15/10/2018 20:57

I'd wear a ribbed polo neck or a slim fitting crew neck jumper but as you're larger in the boob area you're probably better with a v neck. Maybe something like this?

I wear a lot of V necks or boatnecks that show the clavicles. I'm 47 and love wearing a miniskirt.

Also, a 32DD isn't really that big (although I think as a size 8 you might well have be more like a 28F) so don't worry abut wearing a crewneck too much.
