Do I go for the black 8 hole 1460s.... the flora Kensington... the Cambridge brush vegan boots????? Or something else? I love them all. Been looking for boots but each time I go to buy a pair I see something else I like and get an indecisive! I need them to go with the usual skinny jeans boyfriend jeans dresses etc. Any ideas?

I have the flora. Love them!! But they are all good.

zippyswife · 14/10/2018 22:12

The flora look lovely! What colour do you have?

I recommend the Pascal Virginia. They look like normal 8-hole Docs but the leather is so lovely and soft they take about a third of the time to break in.

Blondielongie · 15/10/2018 06:59

I have them in tan.

Glitteryfrog · 15/10/2018 07:39

If you've got little-ish feet have a look at the children's ones.
I love the flora, but they're too wide and gappy around my ankle.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 15/10/2018 08:51

The standard vegan black 8 holers are apparently the most comfy thing even according to my 37 weeks pregnant friend.

Easier to break in apparently than the standard leather ones.

The virginias might be the answer then. I love the look of the cherry red vegans too.

How do the vegans wear in comparison to the leather?

I’ve got Kensington flora in burgundy on today and I love them. I always get lots of nice comments about them! They’re not quite as shiny shiny as this in real life; strip lighting at work is a bit misleading!

KeysHairbandNotepad · 15/10/2018 10:20

I have Virginias in tan too , they're lovely. They go well with floral dresses if that's
Your look. Really comfortable and don't look too 'new'. I was also considering the Kensington boots as they look amazing.

Buy both. It's the only sensible option.

zippyswife · 15/10/2018 10:24

Well I happen to check on the Dr martens website and the Cambridge brush cherry red vegan 8 holes were in the clearance... in my size.. for £75- free delivery and returns.... so decision was made. so if anyone’s interested in them...

I just ordered the pascal 8 hole black glitter ones. I've worn the Gayle style for the past few year, but it's been discontinued :(

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 15/10/2018 11:36

I just got these:

I had the Floras and found them SO uncomfortable I actually sold them. These are really soft leather. I am wearing them with culottes and cropped wide leg trousers. Not sure they will be great with skirts and dresses, but I can walk to work in them and change there - I have a 30 minute trek each way so needed something sturdy!

ThatLibraryMiss · 15/10/2018 14:38

I have wide square toes. I know some DM lasts are wider and more rounded but I can't find fitting or last information on the DM website - can anyone offer any clues?

zippyswife · 19/10/2018 14:33

@that I’m not sure but if you have wide feet steer clear of the vegan Cambridge brush 8 holes. Mine were delivered today. They are beautiful. Tried my entire wardrobe on with them and they look great BUT they are so narrow they make my feet feel numb so I’ve ordered half a size up. I have narrow feet so definitely would be no good for you. Have you tried second hand ones that are already worn in? Or email them/phone them there’s contact details on their website. They may be able to suggest something.
