Shoes. I have a problem.

I need a new pair of shoes, not trainers or casual shoes. Smart work shoes. But, I have strange feet.

I want as follows,

  1. A low heel, at most 1". The heel must have a curve, not a blocky heel.
  2. Leather, not nubuck or similar, but not patent.
  3. Black or brown.
  4. Can be lace up like an Oxford.
  5. Available in a wide Continental size 42. Not 41, or 43, a 42.
  6. Good arch support. I have slightly flat feet.
  7. Not a ballet flat or a boat shoe. Not a round toe, but not very pointy.

I've been looking for 2 weeks now, so has anyone got any suggestions.

Red or Dead do fantastic brogues, great for flat feet!

TheClitterati · 14/10/2018 20:42

Have you looked at Wolky?

BikeRunSki · 14/10/2018 20:47

Clark’s Hamble Oak brogues.
8 is a 42 with them, comes in a wide fit.

travailtotravel · 14/10/2018 20:48

Look in Ecco.

ModreB · 14/10/2018 21:02

Looked un Ecco. They were too narrow.

Clarks, the same. too narrow.

try next? I'm a 42 and their shoes are a good fit

ModreB · 14/10/2018 21:08

Looked at Wolky. In my size, but round toe.

How about Gabor? If they have a G on the insole they are a wide fit. Charles clinkard stocks them.

girlcode · 14/10/2018 23:09

Have a look at Think! Shoes.

carrie74 · 15/10/2018 09:23

M&S? Every shoe I look at seems to be a wide-fitting (typically I have narrow feet).

BikeRunSki · 15/10/2018 10:11

I find Fitflop very wide, and I have wide feet to start with (in Clark’s at least). Look on line, they have loads more formal and casual styles than just the flip flops they are known for.

Hotter ?

Shuh do nice brogues in a 42 Although I can't help with the width - my daughter has some very comfy / good support she's quite flat footed.

grannycake · 15/10/2018 11:30

I have wide feet and share your pain. Some Gabor ones are OK and I have had Vionic which are great but not a leather show. Do intend to try ones though

PeridotCricket · 15/10/2018 11:40

Gabor wide fitting.

ModreB · 15/10/2018 19:12

Gabor is good, but they don't have the style I want. And, the wide fitting has pinched a bit previously.

Tu at Sainsburys have some unbelievably comfy brogues at the mo- I have a lovely navy pair that feel like walking in clouds! Bonus of being leather, having a tiny wedge and decent laces to allow them to expand and fit my chunky feet :)

Think I spotted them in black too, they were £28 so might have to go and get the black- always find their shoes on the large side so a 41 might fit the bill. Or the foot.
