Cheap perfume recommendations that don’t smell shit?

I like nice a nice “clean” smell, also citrusy or quite sweet. So fairly open to a lot of scents.
Just looking for a nice smell I can use everyday for work. I have a really nice perfume (La vie est belle) which I love but I’m trying to save for nice occasions as I won’t be able to splash out on it again for a loooong time.
Any recommendations for a nice scent that doesn’t have that “cheap” underlying smell that a lot of budget scents seem to have?

I sometimes use a body shop one (i think it's called Fiji) and quite a few people have commented (nicely) on it. It's quite light and fresh - and a bit like pomegranate/watermelon.

Ds once squirrel me with one of those 'smelly likey' ones in th chemists and it was lovely - but he didn't know which bottle it was. It was like chanel #5 (I recognised the smell as I used to use it when I was young and had more money)

How cheap are we talking ? I always use origins ginger essence and get loads of compliments very citrusy.
Also &Other Stories do really nice body sprays which last quite well and all smell lovely (i have the fig and the moroccan tea ones)

Any of the Sarah Jessica Parker scents are nice. I've got either Lovely or Stash that I wear for work/during the day. Some of the Next ones are nice too, and huge bottles for the money. My DDs have got several between them. Also agree with M & S, some of theirs are really unusual and a good price.

M&S New York & true red are lovely

Also Bodyshop ones are nice. Black musk is my favorite, smoky and spicy.

I have perfume parlour Dove soap one and it lasts all day (in fact it can be too strong if I don't wear very little)

I second the H&M range and BS Fijian Lotus. The Yardleys are also excellent.
Superdrug Bloom range is amazing.
