Best gadget for soft curls in long hair

My DD (11yo) has asked for something to curl her hair (long soft curls) for parties and dressing up, for Christmas.

DD swears by her tresemme wand - she has waist length thick hair & it's the only thing that she's found that holds the curl & she's tried everything!

I use the Cloud Nine original wand and it's been great - had it over 2 years now. It's lethal if you brush against it accidentally though!

I love my BabyLiss Curl secret, but it might be a bit expensive for an 11 year old.

I usually curl the night before, wrap my hair in a big bun and sleep on it for softer waves in the morning

I have long thick hair that’s naturally wavy & I recently bought the lee stafford bobble waver (?). it’s really good for natural looking waves plus it’s cheap.

I've got quite coarse long hair & this works really well. I would stay away from the wand types because you can get serious burns unless you wear the glove (which no-one uses of course) I like the curl size with this & the fact it has the plate to hold your hair, rather than you needing to wrap hair around it. I did my hair in less than 10 mins last night.
