christmas lunch outfits

I'm losing weight and hoping to be a size 16/18 in time for our works christmas lunch. I really want something that shows off my weight loss, especially for those colleagues I don't like & fortunately don't see that often. Those who made little digs about my weight.

As it's a lunch, I don't think a dress would work, I'd look daft as no one else would be wearing one. Plus I have to work in the morning. So I'm looking for something I could wear that is both suitable for work, xmas lunch and follow up drinks.

I have no idea where to look or what to buy. It's hard to buy for a smaller size than I'm used to. My usual plus size shops all have clothes that are too tent like.

I have so far looked at Boden (too casual I think), New Look (too young), Evans (too old), Yours (too tent like) and Phase Eight (too dressy)

Help! Any suggestions?

I'm 5'5 with a long body and short legs. My legs always look like tree trunks because they are short. I tend to go for short length in trousers.

My mum is suggesting jumpsuits but I'm thinking of the pee-ing problem, plus so many of them are just dull black.

How about basic black skinny jeans with a stylish top & heels?

That could suit Xmas lunch & drinks after.

I'm 5'3" & a bit & size 14 so I'm shortish but this kind of outfit makes me look slimmer & taller.

As you are plus sized try looking at River Island online as they have lots of really nice clothes inc jeans in the Plus range.

Dorothy Perkins do some nice black jeans too.

You could wear black ankle boots with heels if it was cold.

Sometimes near Xmas I wear a sparkly fine knit jumper out to town as it's warmer but Christmassy. I've got a couple from Wallis.
